Will I need Fast Pass for 1st week of march?

Still a little confused about Fast Pass. Does each "big" ride have it's own Fast Pass pick up or do you get them all together. If I understand right, it will have a time on it and you make it at that time. Will the line-ups be bad enough to warrant it. Last time I was there we kept running around and re-boarding Indy with only a minute or so wait. Of course just the line up itself is 8 minutes long (with no one in it!) if i remember correctly

Yes, definately take advantage of the FP no matter the crowds. They are easy to use & worth it to gather thru the day.

When you get a FP, there will be an hour block of time on it (ex: 12:40-1:40)
You can't get another FP until 12:40 arrives or 2 hrs after you got it arrives. So if you got the FP at 9:30, you could get another one at 11:30. So whichever one comes first.
You DO NOT have to ride during the hour block of time. You may use the FP anytime after that on that day. A lot of people gather FP during the morning & take a break in the afternoon & then go back in the evening & use their FP's.
It really is easy to do, & it will make more sense once you get there & do it.

You never know if you'll need a FP or not, it just depends on the crowds. But it's always good to have it just in case.
Not all of the "big" rides have FPs. You can only pick them up one at a time (unless a FP machine isn't connected to the others) until the time at the bottom of your FP tells you to go get another one or wait 2 hrs after you picked up the FP to get another one. I know that I sound really confusing, so I'd recommend reading Hydroguy's tips on the FPs and he goes more into depth about getting them.
There are rides w/ FPs that don't even need them, so just pick them up for your faves just in case the crowd levels increases.

Doesn't Pirates have a fp anymore? I thought there was a fp line the last time we were there but that was about 3 years ago.

The rides I listed above came right off of Disneyland.com & I know Pirates didn't have a FP last March. Wish they did!!

I can't remember Pirates ever having a FP. But maybe I just wasn't there. I was there the day it first opened with the new Jack Sparrow. The line was crazy long, no FPs then, HOWEVER, the line was not nearly as long as we expected. It went pretty fast. I absolutely insisted we all stand in that line and go on it and we were all pleasantly surprised. I haven't seen it that long since.

They used to on and off and it was located in the middle of the left side of the 2 lines. I believe it was there when Jack & the gang were still new (don't remember), but no more FPs for POTC.

Pirates at DL did have Fast Pass for a few years... the machines have been completey removed.
Without FP and a fine-tuned CM pirate crew, Pirates is pretty much an almost continuously moving line, FP really slowed down the classic E-tickets' decades old 'people-eater' thru-put operations more often than not.



Using Fast Pass on at least a few attractions at DL and/or DCA is always good and advantageous, no matter how large or small(er) the crowds may be.

At the very least using it on a few attractions potentially frees up a bit of extra time for more shopping, eating, people watching, trying new things you haven't done before and for re-riding some of your favorites...

I am planning on the first or 8th of March and if you go early in the morning you can get Indy then Haunted Mansion then Splash Mountain, then Pooh and some honey popcorn. That will leave on the west side of the park Big Thunder, Tiki Room which can be saved for later, jungle cruise, pirates, Mark Twain which can be saved for later as it is a big boat, Tom Sawyer Island that can wait for later, Golden Horseshoe which can be saved for later. I would do Big Thunder and Pirates then do Fantasyland.

Next day go east and hit Buzz, Star Tours, Space Mountain, Autopia, Nemo and grab fast passes then go over to bobsleds and Small world. That leaves for later Toontown, Innoventions, Fantasyland, and Honey I shrunk the Audience. In two days you could use fastpasses and pick up those things like the rafts and Fantasyland at midday when the crowds are growing. Sunday will be busy but the weekday will still be almost empty. We did Nemo, Space Mountain, Buzz and Star Tours in about an hour and a half but had delays in between.

Tell me this.. if its something I think my children will enjoy is it worth going directly to Nemo at rope drop to make sure we get on? Tell me anything and all that you know about this ride. It's a must see. This is what I usually do. If I get in town on that first day in the evening, I usually go do that ride first day just to get it out of the way. I tell my family "yes there may be a line but we can do this ride now and then ignore it the rest of the trip" Usually by late evening or during the parade or fireworks it's not bad. Plus since it's just that first day we can skip those things knowing we can see it later. I have done this a few times and I have never had to wait in line longer than 45 mins. Usually the entire ride, from first stepping into line until I get off the sub is 45 mins.

It's been a few years since we were at DL but we did go on Nemo at WDW two years ago. Is it the same in DL as in WDW?
