Will I lose my Free Dining?

We are staying at All Star Movies at the end of August. I booked last December and got the Free Dining (got free QSDP, but upgraded to the basic dining plan).

Lately, I've been thinking about switching resorts, possibly to POR. If I do this, will I lose the Free Dining since that promotion is no longer available? :confused3 Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried to do this before I put a call into Disney. Thanks!

provided there are rooms available, you keep the free dining.

I just did this, I switched from WL to BC and it was fine, you keep the exact same ressie number....the CM did have to put me on hold for a consultation of some sort but in the end it worked just fine.

In the old days, if there is no current free dining offer available at POR, if you switch your resort now, you will lose your free dining. Sounds like with the many changes being made to the reservation system you can do this now. Call and ask.

yes..i was worried...but it did work just fine.

I suppose it helped that I was upgrading...just like the OP. I wonder if you tried to drop from deluxe to mod if the answer would be the same? :confused3

I would guess if you dropped from deluxe to mod within 45 days of arrival you would have to pay the change fee, but that would be all.

We have done just what you are asking about in prior years and we did not lose our FD. You do have to call and be patient - the phone rep has to search around and see what is available for last years code. Also, you may want to go onto Disney's main site and see if you can do better than last years package price. I did that the other day, and we are actually saving $300 for the exact same package that I booked last Sept...worth a look.

I did it! It took a few phone calls, talking to several different cast members before I finally got one who could make the switch for me. We switched from All Star Movies to Port Orleans Riverside, and kept our free dining! :cool1:

So lucky! Love POR and free dining. Sounds like the perfect vacation!
