Will I have time for BOG lunch before catching DME to MCO?

Hello, I have managed to get an 11:45am lunch reservation for BOG on the day we leave. I'm wondering if I actually have time to use it. From what I can tell, we will have to catch the DME for the airport at 2:00pm (for a 6:00pm flight to back to Canada). I am guessing (could someone confirm?) that we really should leave BOG by 1:00pm to get back to Wilderness Lodge and pick up our luggage and get the bus. My question is...do we actually have time to have lunch? Will we get right in at 11:45? How long does it take to order, be served, eat, settle bill and enjoy the atmosphere? The day in question is a Sunday in October. Thanks all for your help!

It depends. We went twice for lunch this summer. (Later August) I would get to your BOG lunch reservation early, if you do try to keep it. We had an 11:45 reservation and popped in early, like almost 30 minutes early and since there was not much of a line, they let us in early. I wouldn't check in any less than 20 minutes early, because the line does get very long.

The first time we went the whole thing went rather fast. Not much of a line, we put our order in the touch screen POS (that is when you pay) found a table and within 10 minutes we had our food. (under an hour)

The second time we went early also, but there was more of a line. Then the hostess had me go to a terminal that had another host input my order for me. This slowed down things a lot. Our food took at least 15-20 minutes to come out after that. (A little over an hour)

If I were you, I would keep the reservation. You can cancel it the day before without a penalty, if you think its not enough time. In the meantime I would keep checking for other days or times that you can switch to. People start letting go of reservations closer to the date, you might get lucky and find a better one for you.

You can pre-order for lunch which will save you time. It isn’t the standard Mobile ordering, but done differently (but not sure how). I think you have enough time.

It's done on your MDE app or website. Go to your BoG reservation and there should be a link to place your order. You can do it 30 days in advance and you can change it i think up to 1 hour before...

You could give yourself a little extra time by just taking a taxi or Uber/Lyft to the airport.

Still seems kind of rushed, though. I'd do a nice lunch at the resort if it were me instead.

Definitely pre-order if at all possible (you can't split checks when pre-ordering). Try to check in a little early, though sometimes we've been told to come back within 5 minutes of our ADR so it's not always possible to get in early.

I've found the service at BOG lunch to be quite unpredictable and the atmosphere is quite chaotic, IMHO. If you are going to attempt it, I would definitely pre-order as the line to order at the kiosks gets very long. I would also aim to be out of there by 12:45 pm. It will take a good 10-15 minutes to exit MK from BOG and then you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for the boat or bus. Add another 10 - 20 minutes to get to WL and it's close to 1:30/1:45 pm. That doesn't leave you a lot of time to get your luggage and wait for the bus. I would keep looking for an earlier reservation, a breakfast reservation or just drop it altogether. I wouldn't want to be stressed out on my last day of vacation.

In theory yes, it's doable, but that's leaving a lot up to chance and you just never know how all the variables will play out. I would save yourself the stress and let the ADR go.

Yeah...I do not like being stressed or rushing while I’m on vacation. I know it can be a strange concept at Disney, but I really don’t ADR that much for this reason.

Preordering makes a world a difference and could save you enough time to make this doable if your party isn’t huge. If I were you and BOG was a high priority, I would keep the reservation, try to make it back in time for DME but plan on an Uber to the airport as a backup plan. To me the Uber would be worth the money for BOG, but to some it’s not, depends on how much you want to go.

Thanks very much everyone! Lots to think about. I am trying to get an earlier reservation...hoping it will come through. Otherwise Uber to airport is a good possibility and the preordering makes a lot of sense in any scenario. Definitely don't want to be stressed getting to the airport that is for absolute sure. Thanks again!!

One thing to keep in mind if you decide to Uber from the park to the airport is, where will you keep your carry on bags? Anything you take into the park has to go thru bag check.

I thought DME was 3 hours early not 4. I was trying to squeeze in a lunch at The Wave before my flight home.

I think it's 3 hours for domestic, 4 hours for international. Except last year around Christmas they were doing 4 hours for domestic.

This is way too tight for me. I think that having that ADR is going to be stressful if one thing glitches. I do hope you can find an earlier one.

Im thinking the OP will get an uber from the resort, not the park. If it were me, i'd leave my luggage with concierge. If I dont make it on time to catch DME, i'd uber it. Either way, it would be with concierge.

Yes @sanapp its 4 hours for international...Canada is considered international. I think 4 hours is a bit too much, but thats another thread I suppose.

So we have done BOG a few times. It really is a cool place to eat. Ordering ahead is the key. We did a breakfast with an ADR time of 8:00.while we were waiting to get into the park we were talking to some other guest and they had like 8:45 or so. They told us that with BOG they look that you have a time but not really at the time. They checked in just behind us. It worked for them but I have no idea if this would work for lunch or not. My point is, if you are at the park anyway, I would try early, like 11:30.might work and might not. It has never taken us more than 30minutes to eat breakfast or lunch at BOG. Mid day, boats to and from WL should not be too busy. Good luck. If you have no problem grabbing a Uber to the airport if you miss your bus..... I would go for it.

If BoG is not too busy and you can get seated quickly, you should be fine.
As others said, pre order your food, arrive early to BoG.
Lunch is much faster, especially with pre ordering. I would expect you should be on your way to Wilderness by 1.
