Hi there,
I have never been to WDW so I am hoping that some of you vets can help me!! We are going for 14 days in Aug. it will me my 9 yr old DD and myself. She is not a big sit down meal eater, more of a constant snacker. Me ?? I'm a different story!! Food is way too important to me!!! I'm hoping the hot weather will help me control my obsession!! Anyway. I have budgeted 100 dollars a day for my daughter and I. This would be food ,trinkets and anything else for that day. My PAP that I am buying should cover the park entrances and DQ and the water parks. Do you think this will be enough???? Should I start budgeting for more now???Any opionions and advice would be appreciated. Oh yeah my DD has also saved 140 dollars of her own for trinkets too.(I'm so proud of her!!)
Thanks again,:)

Congratulations on your trip!
I would say that $100 dollars a day sounds like a reasonable amount. I think a good rule of thumb, for myself anyway, is that you're going to end up spending more than what you plan. Everything at WDW is so expensive. You might want to check out the sample menus and prices at http://www.wdwig.com/menu/menus.htm.
This will give you an idea of what food items cost. As long as you're not planning to eat a lot of big meals, I think you should be fine. Hope this helps.

I think that $100 a day should be great for the 2 of you if you do not buy any large souvenirs.

Our rule of thumb for meals is $20.00 per person per meal (kids alittle less, adults alittle more). That is sit-down meals. We plan to have a nice character breakfast most days and a sitdown dinner at Epcot WS. 2 people 2 meals $80.00 plus $20.00 for snacks. Fiqure each snack at $2.50 you have 4 apiece each day.

Gabylin,
last year we budgeted $150 a day but it was myself, DD and DH. This year as you know it will only be me and DD which is also 9. (DH can't get off work) We came home with over $500 last trip and it was only a 8 day trip. Of course, DD had her own money $20 a day to spend, but i did spend extra $$ on her. (a couple of outfits, a few school supplies I figured school was starting the day after we got back and it was a good excuse) Anyways since it was out first trip we spend as we wanted and didn't want for much. But we are not big collectors of anything and didn't buy anything really big. Biggest thing was $35 for hair wrap. We did about 5 character meals and rest was counter service. '
This year we are hoping for $100 a day (plus the $20 for DD) But if we have at least $75 per day I will not worrry. We have one sit down meal a day planned. (but more than likely some will be canceled becuase we are females and have a right to chage our minds)
Anyways have fun and we still need to meet and let the girls swim together.

Yes, $100 p/day will be enough. My DH, DD and myself budget $100 p/day on our trips and always have enough. We eat at a sit down, usually buffet, once or twice a day. We usually have breakfast in our room. I bring snacks/water from home. DD uses her own money for things that she wants. I usually buy her one/two large things. Sometimes we go home with money (not much).

For my family of 4 DH, DD (17), DS(2 1/2) and myself. I am planning on taking $250 a day for food and spending. I figure if we spend less i will get to take some home. Michelle
