Normally, I'm a planning freak and make sure I have ADRs for each TS meal, but this will be my boyfriends first trip and he hates planning things other than buying tickets. We want to eat at Ohanas on October 3rd for lunch or dinner, and maybe Mama Melrose on October 5th. But Ohanas is the big one.

Would I have any luck just walking into Ohanas for lunch on that day? Or is it pretty much necessary now to make ADRs even in October?

He wants to eat at Pizza Planet at the studios that same day, so im trying to figure out when would be a good time to set up Ohanas....

Maybe just the earliest Ohanas lunch available, so that by 5-6 he'll be hungry for Pizza Planet?

I guess I should be grateful he's adding input - but I wanna plan! :rotfl:

Me personally I would never go without adr's. You know where you want to go. I wouldn't chance it. The best way to find out if it's going to be a problem is to call and see if there are any openings to those 2 resturants .Good luck.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think 'Ohana serves lunch, just breakfast and dinner. I wouldn't count on walking in to 'Ohana for dinner; it's very popular.

Your correct just bk & din.

I will be there Oct. 4th - 11th and have reservations at O'Hana's for 2 on Oct. 4th. The rest of the week, it was booked solid except for a couple of 9:30 dinners.

I've seen posts here about those weeks being extremely booked this year in particular - I don't think I'd chance it if there were places you really wanted to go.

I mean, you can always eat, LOL, but I think your choices will be limited.

No lunch at Ohaha, sorry.

Nowadays, you pretty much need to make ADRs for all table service meals, no matter what time of year, and people do it as much as six months in advance. You choices for the beginning of October are going to be very limited at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if Ohana was completely booked for your dates, it's quite popular. But, keep calling, even once you're at WDW. People do cancel.

If you know where you want to eat on which days, then it is silly not to call and make the ADR. If things change, you can always cancel.

I have been trying like mad for over a month to get an ADR for O'hana for dinner on October 7th with no luck at all. (This is for 2 people.) The only thing they have available is 9:25 pm which is too late for us.

I know it stinks having to plan so far in advance, but if you have your heart set on these places I would call now and see what you can get.

I have been to WDW many, many times and never made dinner reservations. This time I have made reservations for 3 nights and am very, very glad I did. It was a last minute trip as far as reservations go (6 weeks) and I had trouble getting O'Hana. Only got it because they are now opening at 4 that week and I was willing to take 4:15 for a combination lunch/dinner. The rest of the time we will eat CS and Food and Wine Fest. Last time we went we noticed the change and we think it is because Disney Dining has become so popular. I agree that if you know where you want to eat and what day, then you should try to get an ADR. Last trip we did show up at O'Hana before they opened and got on a wait list and were seated within 20 min. We had tried to get a reservation with no luck but apparently someone didn't show up that night.
