I found a good way to tell is to ride on a train
I live near Chicago and our commuter trains have a second level (top). While I can ride on the main area, I cannot ride up top, I get too motion sick.
Also riding in a sleeper car like Amtrak (top level is best to determine).
However, if you do not have access to a commuter train or Amtrak, try reading in the back seat of a car, but still be able to see outside in your perifial view.
I cannot read on any moving object if I can see things moving out of the corner of my eyes. It's the same concept mission space has (I can ride orange but absolutely cannot look to the sides).
I need to take motion sickness pills while on cruise ships and overnight trains. I am fine on planes (12 hours is my longest non-stop flight) and rides. I can get motion sick in the back seats of cars.
I hope that helps!
