Will I be disappointed with All Star Sports?

Hi, folks!

First of all, I apologize for any wrong spelling on this message. English is not my first language.

That been said, let me tell my Disney experience and why I'm so affraid: I've been in Orlando twice before and on both of this trips I was alone and already an adult.

Now I'm married and still crazy about all the Disney magical stuff, however my wife don't care so much and is just enough excited to not think it will be boring.

On my last trips I stayed at All Star Movies (before any refurbishment) and Music and loved both of them (specially using the Disney busses to go to the parks and airport). On our next trip, on november, we will stay at Sports and that is precisely what I'm worried about: a lot of brazilian websites and blogs claim that Sports is the less "disneyish"of the resorts.

Also, I've just watched a youtube video showing problems with the resort decoration (broken statues, stuff lacking painting, etc).

So, I ask to the folks who have stayed at All Star Sports recently: will this 29 years old man be disappointed with this resort to not be at the Disney standards of quality?:earseek:

Thank you so much and, again, sorry for my spelling.

You will love the All Star resorts! All of the Disney magic can be found there, at an economic price! We love the larger than life Disney icons that are found throughout the resorts. My only suggestion is to try to avoid staying there when they are booked up with larger groups. Not bad, just makes the experience altogether different.

I stayed there in February and did not see anything broken or lacking paint. No clue what you're talking about there.

I enjoyed it very much and would stay there again.

But I'm also someone who thinks that you're going to see what you're looking for. I was looking for a nice, clean place to stay on Disney property and that's what I got. If I went in looking for bad stuff, I'm pretty sure I could find it.

- Sports is my first choice of the AllStars
- Room and overall resort have always been fresh, clean and well maintained
- If buses share it's first on and first off
- Food court was refurbished few years back as was Music
- I'm not a sporty person, I am a Disney person and I think it works well
- I think Music has virtually NO Disney theme - so if you liked it you should be fine
- The decor and icons are certainly large and in your face Value resort look
- The main pool area is the best, close to the food court, nice theme
- Always had excellent customer service
- In last 4 years maybe I have stayed 5 times
- I enjoyed Baseball, Basketball (Hoops) and loved Surfs Up
- I avoid Football and hate Tennis (farthest rooms)
- You can still walk to and wander and swim and eat at the other AllStars

Dh and I have always stayed at all star sports. We've both just turned 30 and we're staying there again in 2 weeks. We love the theming and if you use the buses the sports is the first stop if the 3 resorts are sharing 1 bus.

Well, first of all, thank you so much for your replies! That's was faaaaaast!

I was so surprised with this video:
at 15 minutes they show a Donald Duck. I know it's not destroyed, but I've never saw anything like this at Disney resorts before.

Nice to read that! I've been reading a lot about the food court sharing space with de arcade :scared:

Wow! That will be a big deal for us! Thanks!

That is true,BUT it is just temporary as the Floor in End Zone Food Court is being repaired.:)

Work "should" be completed by November.

Sports is gorgeous and fun!:)

And you are hitting it at the right time by going in November-no large Cheer,Dance or Sports Groups and no 15s(especially no Argentina 15s!lol;):)).:)

You will have a great time. If you have stayed at the other value resorts than you already know what to expect. It’s really no different.

We usually stay at the moderate and deluxe resorts. It’s definitely not the same experience, but for the price I thought it was great.

I never would have thought we would enjoy staying there because no one in my family has any interest in sports whatsoever. We don’t watch sports, don’t play sports, don’t care to talk about sports, etc.

But we wound up staying there last year when we planned a short trip at a super busy time and that was the absolute only room available (and it was on sale!) It was well worth the $100 per night. No issues, everything was clean, and the bus service was good.

Good to know that it won't be full of groups!

And just to clarify,a lot of the seating IN End Zone Food Court is still available.

That is a relief, cause the idea of eating in the middle of arcade isn't attractive.

everything was clean, and the bus service was good.

I'm so glad that all of you keep saying it's clean! There are some spooky stories about messy rooms on TripAdvisor (but there are bad reviews about the cleaning in the other all stars and I've never have a bad experience myself).

And for Guests who don't like any Sports at all,the Surf's Up! section doesn't have a "Sports "feel"" at all.

We call Surf's Up! the Value's version of the Polynesian Resort!lol:)

It's been a long time I've stayed at the All Star resorts. Do the buses stop at each resort individually now or do you still have to stop at each one?

buses are only shared with the other All Stars during slower times of the day and Sports is the first pick up and first drop off.

We loved All Star Sports. It’s a great size and bus service was excellent. However Depending on the time of year you can encounter large groups of teenagers, which is pretty much the case at all of the Values. Regardless of the time of year we have always seen groups. We haven’t had a problem, but they are definitely there, extra noise, big gatherings in the public areas, some singing and chanting, lots of people in the food court at peak times, etc.

I love All Star Sports. I stayed by the Football (American) section and it was great fun. I never saw any broken statues or problems with the property. Like PP said, I like Sports because even if you ride the buses with guests from other resorts, you will be picked up first and dropped off first. No problem getting on the buses due to overcrowding. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.
