Will I be able to modify my existing AP rate room?

At the end of this month I plan to add the Passholder DDP to my Passholder RO reservation that I have now. I have done this several times in the past, and the process for the CM goes like this:

Book the Passholder package with Room and Dining and pay in full
Cancel the room only and get refunded the deposit.

Since this is the first time Disney has ever made a discount expire before the check in dates, I'm nervous because how can the CM book the room with the discount and the DDP without the code working?

Does anyone have any experience with this. I can't book the package until later this month so this is going to stress me out!

Guest Services has been able to do this with expired GP discounts, expired PIN reservations, etc. There's no reason to assume they couldn't do it with an expired AP discount.

Thank you!! This is the answer I was looking for :)
