Hi everyone!!

Who- myself (Adriene) and my boyfriend (Art)
Where-beach club studio
When- August 31st- September 6th
Why- A surprise 60th Birthday Trip & we have annual passes.

We usually go to Disney once a year. Last year I had the brilliant idea that if we purchased annual passes and timed it out where we use it once when we originally purchase them and once right before they expired it would save us money since we always go for a week and always buy hopper passes.
Of coarse I was secretly thinking of adding a third mini trip in there because you know, The passes are already paid for.
Spoiler alert!! If you are anyhing like me, buying AP passes will not save you money.

The plan was to go the second week of December 2018
A mini trip 3/12-3/17 at the Polly 2019

The first week of December 2019. Just booked that trip last week.
I am very lucky an have found an awesome dvc owner who seems to have an endless amount of points and books all our trips for us.

We just returned from our first trip on annual passes. 12/8-12/16. We had a great time and everything went according to plan. We saved around $100 using of AP for discounts on food & merchandise.

As we were walking around Epcot on our last day, the subject about the food & wine festival came up and Art said he would love to come back "one year" during the festival. I agreed that is a great idea and the subject was dropped.

As we were on the magical express going to the airport, I googled the dates for food and wine to see when it is this year just for fun and the first day of the festival is just over a week after Art's 60th birthday.

The not so bright lightbulb went off in my head thinking maybe I can book a surprise trip for his birthday. I quickly texted my dvc lady to see if there was any availability at the BCV (her home resort) I really didn't think there would be as it's the start of food and wine but there was!!
I booked Aug 31st- Sept 6th right then and there on the bus while art was sitting right next to me!!
As of right now, he has no idea and the plan is to keep it a surprise until his birthday on August 18th. I have already talked to his coworker who blocked off the week so no one else could take it.

I have a couple of small things I need advice on.

#1. Our ADR window opens up right before our march trip, is there a way the make a reservation without having it linked to MDE? We will be using the app for our March trip so he would see the reservation if it was linked.

#2 what would be the best way to give him the trip on his birthday? Everything I have found online for a surprise Disney trip is geared towards kids. Any ideas are welcome!!
