I recently started watching Will & Grace on Lifetime & am trying to understand their relationship. Could someone fill me in on the show history?

Will and Grace dated briefly in college. Will then came out of the closet. Will and Grace have been best friends ever since.

Adding that Jack was in college w/Will and Grace and was the one who told Will to face the fact that he (Will) is gay b/c Will is in denial. On that episode, Will proposes to Grace in order to get out of having s#x w/her while they're visiting her parents. Of course, the engagement lasts less than 24 hours. This is all from the great "flashback" episode that has Jack wearing braces and living in his parents basement and acting like ... well ... Jack. IE: the phone is ringing and, although the phone is right near him, he keeps yelling for his mom to answer the phone. V. funny!

It's my favorite comedy of all time. Have watched the re-runs over and over and over and over and over.......LOVE IT!!!! Just keep watching, you'll get hooked.

Make that another Jack & Karen lover. My friends say I am just like Karen. I think they should can it b/c I don't think that is nessacarily a good thing. But I love her. She is pure comedic relief.

Jack and Karen are definitely the life of the show. This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time (although, I'm not a big TV watcher, so I could be missing something else, too).

I own the first four seasons on DVD...I'm sure you can go rent them at a Blockbuster.

That would help you catch up a lot. Jack and Karen start to take over in season three...and the rest is history. I quote Karen daily, and my best friend is gay, and looks amazingly like Sean Hayes..it's almost uncanny. We actually went as Jack and Karen one year for Halloween. I wore a black suit and hitched my chest up to my chin, and he wore jeans, a sweater vest and white tennis shoes. It was priceless.

I am going to cry and cry this year when it goes off the air!

At that time, Jack was still in high school. he said he prefered college guys because they were more comfortable about their sexuality. That was why he was at the college party.
