Will Garden View Tea Room accomodate large party?

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone knew if the GF Garden View Tea Room would accomodate a large party of 18? We would be 16 adults and 2 babies traveling during a value (low crowd) season. Time of day would preferably be around 3pm.

Also, is it appropriate to bring babies to this restaurant? They will both be around 1 year old & I know sometimes it's not appropriate to bring babies into upscale restaurants. I've never been to the tea room before, but I'm assuming if it's at GF, it might be upscale.

I have seen large parties there before, just be sure and make reservations WELL in advance since the place is small. You can make them 6 months out.

I think babies will be fine, esp if their mom/dad remove them if they get cranky.

Thank you for that info! Yes, these are very responsible parents-my BFF & her hubby & my FBIL/FSIL. This will be my wedding reception!!

I just know that places like V&A is not appropriate for a baby-just wanted to make sure that the Garden View room isn't the same way.

How small is this place? Is it as small as Beaches & Cream?

If this is related to a wedding, and it is on WDW, talk to your Wedding Coordinator.

1) If there is still time, you can get the ADR for the group size.
2) But, you need to be fast, as the ADR's fill up quickly, even in slow times.
3) If taking small kids, PLEASE watch for signs of restlessness.
4) Afternoon Tea is not a place for whiny kids - it is quiet, sedate and serene.
5) You will get looks AND COMMENTS from others at the Tea.

Thank you both for your kind advice.

We are still 1 year away from actually booking our WDW wedding, so no coordinator just yet-that's why I've been seeking info from you experts
DF says "maybe, if we can afford it" so I'm trying to gather as much info as possible to prove to him that we can!!

We certainly do not want to disrupt anyone with the little ones, but I know that my guests will remove them if they get in any way disruptive....but is this a casual atmosphere or signature type restaurant? Is it appropriate to even include quiet babies at this location?

Anyone have any photos of this place? Any experiences to share from going there?

It is very elegant. The servers are all in Victorian clothing. The tea service is on real decorated china. It is at the very back of the GF lobby and looks out onto the landscaped grounds. Any time I have seen children there they have been very well behaved.

I would not expect the Guests who are there for formal tea to bring children who might be disruptive or loud; if they do, the other Guests may hint to them that they remove the child(ren).

I am going at the end of August with SIL and my 6yr old niece!

I am so excited b/c it is "just the girls" trip- I am going to bring 3 pairs of white gloves with me and surprise my niece- I think she will love it. We all have to wear the gloves and drink our tea with our pinkys in the air!

We'll decide what to do about the children as we get closer to the date and can judge their behaviors a bit better.
