We are going in Feb. We have five nights planned. If the FT package (or something similar) is offered I will jump on it. Does anyone want to make a guess if we will see anything simlar? I am a big planner and the difference between 5 and 7 nights if killing.

I would have to say discounts for Feb. are anyones guess. According to mousesavers.com, discount codes/packages for travel during Feb. weren't available to the public until Oct. or Nov. time frame.

At the moment, some of us traveling in December are waiting to see if the FTP is going to be extended. If it is, then you might have a good chance of seeing it in Feb.

Hope this helps,

I'm going in November and would jump on the FTP too (just in case anyone is listening......).

I'm going mid-november too!!!! Please extend the package! It just means more money I can spend at WDW!!!!:teeth:

Not to ruin ur hopes but i think they will not extend it
because it is already in effect for i believe 6 months
And being corperate america most "deals" only last so long.

On the upside......it may be good or bad...
getting a room for October is close to impossible at a moderate
we tried to add a SINGLE day to our FTP and were denied cause there are no more availablities....

that could be a good sign to extend it or a bad sign cause they offered the deal....filled everywhere and that might be it...

When I did try that extra day, though, the CM told me to call back in a couple days because they were going to "reevaluate"
the FTP as a whole and see where it stands....In my example...
Possibly open more rooms up for the FTP.

BTW i did get the extra night, not because of the reevaluation
but when i called they had a cancellation...

Scratch my post from above. I just got off the phone with a CM who is very definite that the FTP will NOT be extended for the rest of the year. I called and booked the Pop Century resort for Dec.14-19 and inquired about the FTP. That's the answer she gave me. BTW, she works in WDWTC not CRO.

She was giving me the impression that Disney is only offering the FTP for summer and fall, which I believe lands in 'regular season.' This would make sense, since Nov & Dec. are mostly 'value season' months.

The good news is we will probably see the norm, general room discount codes and AP discounts.

Don't bet your life on it yet... Disney's last word is never written in stone. I recall how many posted disappointing notes regarding the requests to bring back ee...

The truth of the matter is, Disney will probably see how its finances are doing between now and then. It is not enjoying the financial stability it did years ago. FTP has been a success and I would not be surprised to see an extension...

FTP seems to be doing well for WDW so I think there is a possibility that it will be extended to the rest of the year and possibly into next. I think it will still take "specials" like FTP to fill rooms at Disney due to our present economy throughout the year and into next. Even if FTP is not duplicated exactly, I do believe they will need discounts to fill rooms until the travel industry picks up again.

On a personal note I would really like to see the FTP extended into Feb. also. We have AP's but we will be traveling with friends who do not and I'd love for them to be able to take advantage of the FTP deal.

I totally agree with you guys. Just wanted to give what information I heard so that people, (like me), who are waiting for the FTP to be extended can have alternate plans just incase.

I want the FTP to be extended as well, but it's nice to have a backup plan just incase the package doesn't extend to the end of the year.

My personal plan is to purchase Annual Passes by September if I don't see the FTP available by then for travel thru Dec.
No worrys here!

We already have a room reserved for Dec 7-14 but have until the 16th of June to do the 200 deposit. I too am really hoping they will extend the FTP for our timeframe but I will try for whatever other savings if they don't.

My question is I booked through WDTC and if they don't come out with the FTP extended I would be willing to do a room rate or buy one AP for our party just to get some savings. Can anyone tell me if for instance they don't extend the FTP and I have to go with the room code or AP savings if I can apply this to my existing reservation or will I have to switch to CRO or even do a new ressie through WDTC??

My biggest concern is losing the rooms I already have reserved. Will I have to start all over if codes come out or can I apply them later and does anyone here think I should keep the ressie I have now and pay the deposit on the 16th or cancel it and start all over and take a risk of not being able to reserve the same 2 rooms i already have???

Thanks for your help!!

I hope (for selfish reasons) that FTP is not extended. I have already booked for November 16-21 at BWV using rented points. The dates cannot be changed as we are traveling with friends and these are their only available vacation dates. I would not be able to transfer to the FTP without causing major hassles and loses to my renter (she was so sweet, helpful and professional)I would never want to cause her trouble. So, if FTP is extended to include my dates, I would just have no other choice but to throw up.LOL

I personally hope that FTP is extended because we are also going mid-November. But this just had me ROFLOL! Thanks for making me smile! :)

Something a friend of mine did.
Not even knowing that the FTP was coming out he booked a week a while ago. When talking to him last week we told him to call and ask to be placed into the FTP.

They happily switched him over to the FTP

So if you just book now and there is an extension you should
have no problem switching to the discount.

agree with TreeOfLife, even eisner said bookings were looking good. an extension, or some variation sounds like a possibility to me.

Actually... it will only be 4 months. It runs from 7/3 - 10/30. So, maybe there is hope yet ;)
