Will Free Dining Package Work for Me???

Our family already has a trip booked from August 9-17 at Fort Wilderness campgrounds (we plan on getting tickets for seven days.)
I know we can just make two reservations to get the free dining, but I have a question about the tickets. Will we have to get two tickets, a four-day and a three-day, for each person? I'd like to just get seven-day tickets with the package, but I heard you cannot pick up your tickets until check-in. So I wouldn't be able to get the tickets until halfway through our trip...?
Do we even HAVE to buy tickets with the package? ><
Oh, one more thing. Does anyone know for sure whether or not the campgrounds are included? (we could always switch to a value resort.)

I am 75% the free dining is on your ROOM not how many days your ticket is for... So if you did make the second reservation for half of your trip you could use it....

Yes, you have to book tickets, not room only. The dining package is based on the # of nights of your stay, you must have the package for your entire stay, or you can make 2 reservations if you only want the package for part of your trip. However, others (such as those who already have APs) have stated that they only had to buy a 1 day ticket in order to get the free dining (for their length of stay). I hope I got that right.

You can book tickets longer or shorter than the numer of hotel nights, so your free dining ressie can be coupled with the 7 day tickets and the first few nights be "room" only.

That will not work because she needs tickets from the beginning so 7 day tickets on the second reservations would be unavailable until the 13th.

The cheapest way to go is to probably buy 6 day tickets with your original stay and then get the package with just 1 day tickets. That is more costly than a 7 day ticket but the cost of the dining package probably makes up for it.

I don't think the campground is included. The free dining deal is book a MYW package and get the dining free, if you are not getting a MYW package then you cannot get the dining plan even if you wanted to pay for it. You would be better off booking a value resort.

Disney is offering free dining most nights 8/13/06-9/30/06, they offered free dining last year around this time period also. You myy have time to rebook your trip though.

I don't know about the campgrounds, but I was told that you could pick up your package tickets 5 days before you checked in for the package. Call and see if you get the same answer. Then you could get the 7 day tickets with the package and use them for the first part of your stay.

I booked a package with Disney that includes multiday MYW tickets but I will be there several days before my check in date, staying offsite. Is there anyway I can use those tickets before I arrive at the Disney resort?

Yes there is. In the past, package tickets were tied solely to your check in date and could only be encoded onto your resort ID. Not so now. Your MYW tickets can be obtained up to 5 days prior to your check in date. The resort's Lobby Concierge should be able to assist you doing this. All Guest Relations locations can do it as well.

But a word of warning on this: the procedure to do this is not widely known by all CMs and does entail a little extra effort on their part. Don't be surprised if you are told no. Ask the CM to check with their supervisor if they say they cannot do it. Currently, this is a case of some CMs can and will do it while others can't/won't.
