I read a post that said DL was going to have a hard tkt Christmas party. I hope not! We're making plans to do a DL Christmas either in 2011 or 2012. I love the fact that we'll be able to see the Christmas parade, reindeers and all the other Christmas happenings from mid-Nov thru Dec.....and not have to pay extra for them. (of course, we'll only be there for 4 days or so during that time frame) Has anyone else heard anything about this?

1) I guess it is possible.
2) But, going to be tricky.
3) DL is a "day park", not a vacation destination.
4) Thus, people comning for a day would be short-changed.
5) They would be really upset to have their tickets good until 7:00pm.
6) Instead of 9:00pm.
7) As a "day park" theyu can't just switch their plans for one day.

I think it is fairly likely. They charge for Halloween parties no problem, why not Christmas too?

The Halloween thing is what really has me worried now about Christmas. A few years ago I read about how we could do Halloween at DL without having to pay extra. Before our family could make it to DL for Halloween, they started up the hard tkt party. I'm so afraid that Disney will do the same thing for Christmas. Disney trips are expensive enough without having to pay extra just to see the Christmas parade. I'm afraid that if they did that, we'd just go during a warmer month, and skip the Christmas scene all together. Unfortunately though, we would have probably booked everything before the change of plans for Christmas was announced. That's why I'm trying to find out if anyone has some inside info on this. Thanks!

All I've seen regarding making it a paid ticket event was really rumoresque in tone.

IMO because DLR has so many APs they could revolt if they suddenly have to pay for another special event. Though they don't seem to bat an eye paying for the candy at Halloween.

The other thing that may hold it off a year or two is construction in DCA. Since there is not going to be much room for people to go if a ticketed event pushes people across the esplanade to a DCA that is full of construction walls in one half, and WoC closing down most of the other half in the evenings.
