Will Disney World be worth the money for me?

Yes, go and have fun, do not worry. There are few thrill rides at WDW. In fact I have family going that grew up next to Kings Island and I worry that it will be too tame for them! You will do great!

I think a lot of people have responded to you by now about the amazing theming at Disney that takes precedent over the thrills, but in your first post you said you can ride a "Spider" type ride. If you can handle that monstrosity of a ride then most things at Disney are on the table. That's one of the only rides that ever made me sick to my stomach (and consistently too).

I live in cincinnati and go to KI all the time. If you can do adventure express, which is SUPER rough and jerky, you can easily do Big Thunder Mountain! And probably even Space Mountain. No big drops AT ALL. If you can do scrambler and " the monster" you will be totally fine on the majority of Disney rides ( not TOT, lol) but Pooh, PP, IASW, any of them except maybe a few! Please trust me on this! And, if you can do White Water Rapids...Kali will be fine!! Just avoid the " big" ones Everest and TOT, and have an AWESOME time!!!

Thanks so much for the replies. A lot of people have said that the rides at Disney are tame, but when they say that they usually don't realize the extent of my fear of heights and rollercoasters. I'm happy to know the rides won't be too scary for me!

My sister is terrified of any "hill" in a ride. She is not afraid. She is terrified. She did okay. I took her on Pirates, which in DLR, where we were, seems to have a less gentle drop, and she was fine. Brike every bone in my hand, but was fine. She was also okay on Soarin, and I was not sure she would manage.

I do not know the extent of your fears, but I will say that if you skipped 90% of all "rides" in WDW, you would still be able to find a good value. There are hows, parades, fireworks displays.

There are attractions that are more of a glide than anything that could be considered a ride, and there is entertainment galore.

I would say that if you are going for the first time, do as others suggested. Check out the attractions on Youtube. Watch planning videos that are on cable, and ask folks here to help you plan your days so you can have a balance of entertainment, shows and a few attractions that are not at all intimidating. You can always determine your comfort level for others after you arrive and acclimate to the attractions that are "safe" for you.

I will say that my sister went on a few attractions that I thought she would be comfortable on, and once she saw that Disney Attractions are not Six Flags, she was okay.

Last time we went I was 7 months pregnant and really couldn't ride any of the coaster type rides. Hubby and I still had a blast on a 7 day trip. We spent alot of time just slowing down and enjoying the stuff we never took time to see. We did parades, shows, most the character meet and greets, ate at nicer sit down restaurants we normally wouldn't go to, and just people watched (there's alot of good people watching at Disney).

I think you're safe doing plenty of the rides at Disney. If you're afraid of heights I probably wouldn't recommend Soarin. It's a great ride and just Imax. You're never more than a few feet off the ground. Although the perception of the ride makes you feel like you're much much higher.

I am scared of heights- really , really scared. Soarin' doesn't bother me at all. It is one of my faves!

I think that's the beauty of Disney! It really is a great place for someone who doesn't love rides. There are plenty of shows, characters to meet, parades, experiences, etc that not liking thrill rides isn't an issue, in my opinion. As other people suggest checking out some of the rides online will help to determine just how intense each ride will be. I think there will be more you want to do than you won't want to do! Good luck!

Why are you going to Disney World (legit question) ? and what other locations did you look at?

The reason I asked this? Is because something must have go you to want to go? Maybe you saw the Castle in Magic Kingdom and went what fun! or saw Kilimanjaro Safaris and went thats something I have not done? Or maybe you just wanted to see a Disney Parade . These are all examples. If you saw something and wanted to go for that reason DO IT. But if you feel like you SHOULD well don't
