Will Disney let you do this?

At the hotel I worked at not Disney but a 4 star we were required to informed the front desk if a room was empty- nothing in it. We alway had some guess who would stay somewhere else but if they left some stuff in the room there was no need to call the front desk.

Yes, in college, I worked for a hotel and we had several situations where housekeeping would go in the room, find it empty, and notify the front desk. We typically assumed that the guest had left early, without checking out, and many times that was EXACTLY what happened, for various reasons. So, I would definitely either leave something in the room, as others have suggested, leave a big note for housekeeping, or let the front desk know. JMHO!

Thanks everyone. I'm about to call Disney reservation now to see what they say.

Last Feb we reserved two rooms for a week. In the middle we left four a couple days to go to Vero Beach and then returned. We did leave some bags there, though. If nothing else, take an extra t-shirt and a couple extra shirts and hang them...leaving the extra bag there. Then it will look like someone is there. But, as long as you are paying for the room I wouldn't think it would matter whether you slept there or not.

I would leave a few toiletries in the bathroom and a couple pieces of clothing on the bed.

Even if you leave some items Housekeeping will still possibly think the person left and forgot the items, as guest leave all the time and forget things.

I think the OP is definitely going to have to left the resort know or run the risk of them thinking the room has been vacated.
