First of all thanks for everyone's advice. I just got off the phone with reservations and was told that I can make a reaservation for Dec 16 06-Jan 2 07 and get the value season rate for the whole vacatioon saving $1900 over splitting the reservation and paying both value season and hoiday season rate. However, a AAA rate could only be applied to the first 3 nights and a split reservation would have to be made costing me more than just doing one reservation.

As far as leaving for a couple days for Christmas, she told me that since I paid for the entire stay, it's my room regardless if I'm there the whole time or not. She did say that I would need to let the front desk know that the room would be unoccupied for those 3 days so they don't think I left and didn't check out.

OK Are you three days in the middle of your stay? IF so, I would think you will be fine. I have actually left a room for a day or so... I always put the "Do Not Distrub" sign on the door so that the maid service doesn't even try to come in.

CarolA,

Yes they are. I would be at AKL from Dec 16-Dec 23 and then would be back on Dec 26 or Dec 27 until Jan 2. I would only be gone for a couple of days for Christmas. This way I get my long Dec WDW trip that I have always wanted and it won't interfere with Christmas, plus I can get back way before New Years. Also this does mean that I will be renewing my AP before it expires in Feb.

Now the only other issue, is do I still go on my trip in January 06 trip I have planned or postpone it. I got a really really good deal for January and would hate to cancel it, so I'm trying to work both out.

we kept our pofq rooms while we stayed at universal's royal pacific hotel when we were there in august/september and it was no problem... we left enough stuff behind to make it known that we were coming back! LOL!
