Will Disney book air with a "room only" ressie?

I already booked the rooms, but have some friends who will be joining us after the weekend (I booked both sets of rooms under my name). I would really like to find them a deal on air. Since several people mentioned getting good fares through Disney, I wondered if I would be able to call up Disney now and add airfare for them? We won't need it (doubt Disney can match/beat my first class seats, lol) so can I add it for them onto our room only ressies?

I don't think you can add air to a room-only reservation, you'd probably have to turn the reservation into some type of package. You can always call CRO and ask, or if your friends live near an airport serviced by Southwest and your trip will be completed by December 12, they can probably get a great fare that way!

I've never tried this, but I don't know why they wouldn't. Give them a call.

I just made an AAA room only reservation last night with WDW and the CM asked if I needed air. But I really think you can do better on your own if you don't mind taking the time to research on line.

You may or may not be able to book cheaper fares yourself....

I did lots of looking and very surprising to me Disney was about $56 per ticket cheaper, so I booked!!! Checking Disney site since then they are no longer the cheapest, so I guess you just have to get them at the right time.

Beware, if you book airfare with your Disney room Disney might throw in a round of miniature golf or tickets to Wide World of Sports and the whole thing now fits the definition of a package which it becomes.

The significant differences between a package and a room-only reservation are that packages have more restrictions on changes and cancellations, and your final payment is due sooner.
