Hi guys,

I am heading down to disney world for the first time in december but can anyone tell me how bad will the crowd right after christmas (25-30 dec). I have very limited time and I really want to make the best of it. Tentatively I plan to visit the Magical kingdom on the 20th and 27th december. Can anyone tell me if it is advisable to have it on the 27th? Or will it be better to head down before christmas or on christmas day itself?

Thanks in advance all!

Oh yes, and will 2 days be enough to view the magical kingdom during the peak period?

Bad news: Christmas-New Year's week is the busiest time of the year! Ride waits are long - 2 hours (at least) for the "big" rides.

Good news: MK will be decorated for the holidays. There are special shows and Mickey's Vey Merry Christmas Parade up until the 28th or 29th. Lots of good people watching, too.

If you must ride every ride - forget it - it can't happen in two days with so many people. If you want to have a magical holiday experience, then go for it! :santa:

The 20th won't be as crowded as the 27th but it is the only day that mk is open late. Going on the 21 for EE will guarantee you to see all of fantasyland and your 2 or 3 favorite rides with no lines. If you get to DW the 16th you will have several peaceful days in the parks. We found that if we go the 16th for $65 night aaa at pop, for 10 days, it is cheaper than going for 5 nights closer to Christmas. At any rate, DW at Christmas is awesome. You might just make it a tradition like we have :)

Thanks guys! Hey pats dragon, do you mean that I go on the 21st, there will be very lil people? And what do you mean by EE?

I really did not want to go to DW on christmas week, but it was totally UNAVOIDABLE! I have 3 kids at school and I had to pick a date when they were all on school vacation. It is a real nightmare. After a very bad experience with long qs at hong kong disney I am going to take precautions this time round. heehee.

There will be fewer people there than the week after Christmas. The crowds will still be large but it usually doesn't seem as bad. EE is probably Early Entry or Extra Magic Hours where the park is open either an hour early or 3 hours late.

dang, i had no idea that the christmas week was so deadly. thanks for all the advice!

I spent 2 weeks there from before christmas until after new years a few years ago and the days prior to Christmas Eve were alot slower then the days from Christmas eve until New Years day.

VERY VERY VERY crowded, I didnt listen I went last year Left on the 25 and came home on the 30, It was so crowded that we didnt really enjoy the vacation.....So when they say on here that its crowded listen,lol......I can tell you how crowded it was, on the Day we went to Magic Kingdom, I was so fustrated with the level of Rudness and all we left the park after doing everything the girls wanted to do.....it was just fustrating to put myself and my children thru all that, My Older DD 4 at the time was pushed around during the parade an all......It was not fun......The POP was so full and noisy that we ate in our room,lol.....It was beautiful to visit but I would go in the Begining of December............Its beautiful to go resort hopping and see all the trees. and the Ginger Bread House in GF was a Sight to see, and also if you in the early weeks you can go to the Very Merry Christmas Party that we could not do cause the cut off date was the 23........Good Luck Planning...... :wizard:

Thanks again everyone, looks like i will have to go through my holiday plans again and work something out!
