I had info that friends could book our Sept. 2008 reservation while they were there last week and get the free dining plan, and they did, and got confirmation numbers, however three days later, Disney called their room and canceled the reservation saying that the names on the reservation did not match the names currently in the room. Now I am bummed and my kids will be too. I was just there for 10 days in May and did not know of this offer. Is there any loop hole to this that you all can see?

the only "loophole" would be for your friends to join you for free dining next year... the offer is a bounceback offer for those there during free dining (aka hurricane season) to come back again next year at the same time of year... so, unless one of your friends is willing to travel with you (and if they are, they could get two rooms, one in each adult's name and both of them have to be there when you all check in, and how you decide to split the rooms after check in is up to you)...

the other possibility is that this free dining offer will eventually be opened to the general public as it has been in previous years... be on the lookout around april, and it's usually a few days earlier for disney visa cardholders...

good luck!

It would not have helped you in MAY as the offer was not going on then.
and no there are no loopholes. Keep an eye out on here for in the Spring in case they offer it then for fall again.

Did your friends also book a room for themselves or just for you?

DH and I were in WDW a couple of weeks ago and booked again for 2008 through the bouceback offer. While we only had one room this year, we booked two rooms for next year (one in my mother's name since she will be joining us and one in my name). Disney had no problem booking two reservations since we had two adults this year, but at least one of the reservations had to be under DH or I.

The person booking the room must be on the reservation. If the friends had booked a room for you and a room for themselves it would have worked. I believe the person present at the resort and doing the booking may book up to 3 rooms, but their name must be on at least one of them.
