Will Discovery cove be too much for our first day

We arrive on the Friday (Thanksgiving weekend), and I was thinking of booking Discovery cove for either the Saturday or Sunday. My theory is that this is the only park that can't get too crowded ;)
I'd really like to book for the Saturday, but I'm a little concerned that we'll be too tired.
Has anyone else done this on your first day, if not what do you do?

Haven't done it first day, but it is the most relaxing park of all.
After(or before) your dolphin swim, you can snorkle in the fish pool or just float around the "river" into the aviary or just relax on the sun loungers soaking up the sun.
The park closes around 5 to 5.30 so you'll have all evening to relax too, go for it!

I'm sure that this would be a nice, relaxing park to do on your first day. You'll probably wake early anyway (bodyclock still on UK time) and full of excitement to be in Orlando again. So no worries about not being able to 'cope'. My only concern would be this: if Discovery Cove is going to be a real highlight of your holiday, do you want to get it over with on Day 1, or would it be better to plan it towards the end of your holiday and have the anticipation build up while you are there?

Regards

Rob

I know what you mean Rob, I've thought about that myself. Discovery cove will be one of the highlights of the holiday, but I want to get it in as early as possible because I'm worried that as the holiday gos on the weather is more likely to get cooler, and it would really spoil it if were to be too cold to get in the water.
Theres also the fact that its Thankgiving weekend, and everywhere else is going to be packed out.
I would really like to do it for my birthday on 5th December, but thats nearly a week later. We'd bought tickets for MVMCP for the 5th last year and that was rained off  Although I suppose you can't go on that - the weathers not the same from one year to the next is it ?

Decisions Decisions

We are doing DC the day before we come home. Felt as we were doing theme park overload it was a nice way to chill out at the end of the holiday and something to still look forward to throughout the holiday.

The day we return we are going to seaworld so the last two days are mega relax.

But only you can decide what is best for you.

We did the same as MKLover - Discovery Cove on our 2nd to last day. It is a great way to wind down and relax after seeingf all of the parks and you will have something to look forward too towards the end of the holiday (so you can try and forget about having to go home!).

I wouldn't be too sure that the weather would change that much over the course of a few weeks.

I think it's worth keeping DC for later in the holiday, when you will appreciate the rest and relaxation more. SW is always a good first-day park and handles the crowds pretty well, while Epcot seems to be a good bet on Sundays at the moment. I'd try not to worry about the Thanksgiving w/end crowds too much; you will appreciate the difference later on in the trip when they've all gone home!
