Dh is crazy. He wants to take his Aunt and Uncle from NYC to US/IOA on 4th of July weekend. I told him we should think of another idea because I'm pretty sure it will be very crowded and extremely hot. How bad do you all think it will be as far as crowds?

I think we will defenetely get express passes in advance and have at least 1 meal break. We will probably go for 1 day (Sat, July 5th) and do both parks. Should I do US in the morning or IOA?

I know Disney will be pretty bad.

all parks are crowded on july 4th.

are you an ap holder for uo?

if so, be sure to read the special for july 4th that was sent out yesterday.

there are a few other threads that address your same question in this forum.

some of them have loads of advice in them.
try to read them and if you have more questions, please come back and post them.

Hey Mac, i never recieved any info for AP holders, where might i find it.

Hey Mac, i never recieved any info for AP holders, where might i find it.

i got it by email.

when i bought my ap, i registered on the universal annual pass holder's website.

i receive the up to date blurbs and emails of changes.
like the special rates that start tomorrow for the onsite hotels.
big drop in price.

and i usually get the quarterly ap newsletter by snail.

i can pm you the latest blurb.

hang tight, give me 3 minutes to send to you.

if you are an ap holder, do register at the ap website.
be sure to click on florida not hollywood to get the infos

No, I'm not an AP holder.

parks will have extended hours.

with that in mind, go early morning.
get there by 7:45 for the parking lot line.

you will have about a dozen cars ahead of you.

the garage opens at 8 sharp.
you will be in and parked by 8:12

be at the gates for ioa at 8:30. count on early entry. the coasters will be open. or do the studios first.

some rides at ioa and the studios do not open at nine no matter what.

if you go early, you will beat the crowds that will be there starting around 11ish.

eat at off times.
when the crowds begin around 11, do your lunch then.

when the crowds do dinner, maybe 5 - 6:30 stay with the rides.
eat dinner at off times when lines for food are low.

city walk will be full also in the evening.

i hope you all have a great time.
trust me, it will be crowded.

take things along in a cooler.
take water, soda, snacks.

you can always go to the car in the garage to get them. they would stay cooler there in the car area than in a locker.
the garage is covered and not out in the open like disney parking is.

Thanks mac, got it.
I registered on the site ,but have never recieved any newsletters.
I know they have had some good deals on the APH rates , are there more coming out tomorrow.

it would be cheaper for you to email them instead of calling them about not receiving your copies.

you don't live local and who knows how long you could be on hold with that call. just trying to help save you a nickel.......:rolleyes1

other ap holders have commented on not recieving the blurbs.
do an email and give them a heads up on it.

you should start receiving them then.
if not, you do have the last special news blurb that has been released.
some people got theirs on monday or tuesday.

be sure to specify you want the orlando info
if you don't, you might end up on the hollywood list for info.

The whole weekend will be VERY busy.

I'm trying very hard to convince DH to go to wonderworks instead or some other "smaller" attraction in the Orlando area.
