will breakfast buffet omelette chefs make eggs to order?

Trying to plan a trip that may involve my parents for part of it. My dad does not really do buffets. I'm not sure he even really does typical breakfast menus. he kind of just orders what he wants, which is always 2 eggs over easy, bacon, home fries and toast. the sides could be easily assembled at a buffet, but at places like 1900 park fare where there is an omelette chef, can you also get regular eggs made to order?
That might make the whole buffet thing bearable for all

I don't think so, because they're working with the standard issue pre-liquid eggs at the omelette station. Pretty much any of the omelette stations are. No actual eggs with actual shells and distinct, non-beaten yolks.

they do at things like the marriott breakfast buffets (ask me how I know lol) so I'm hoping someone knows for sure. it is possible that they will crack a couple of eggs into a bowl and cook them up. I know omelette stations tend to use the carton eggs for the actual omelettes but they often have real eggs in back too. if someone has asked or been denied or accommodated, i'd love to know.

Maybe I should give up on the characters and just go to a place like the wave.. then kiddo and I and maybe even my mom can have the buffet and grumpy pants can have the american.

I wouldn't go in expecting to be able to get them at a buffet. Even if they did have some whole eggs in the back special accommodations are generally only done for food allergies or medical reasons at these restaurants. Otherwise you are eating what's on the buffet as is. You'd probably be better off at a TS restaurant that has what he is looking for on the menu.

Cape May definitely will provide "made to order eggs" versus the buffet offerings. Ditto Captain's Grille--I have ordered eggs over easy at both in addition to enjoying items from the buffets. I would ask at 1900 prior to booking--call the restaurant directly--you may be surprised. The omelette chef isn't the one who prepares them--it comes from the kitchen via your wait person.

Thanks. I didn't think this was such an odd or "special" request. I was at Boma and saw the server bring out a plate of over easy eggs to someone as well, which is why I thought to ask. Cape May is also on my short list of potential breakfasts too though!

If a Buffet has made-to-order omelettes, they're gonna' have eggs too.

Funny, some buffets have nobody making eggs, but you can ask for eggs from the kitchen (I do this at The Wave).

All of them i can think of are pouring eggs from a dispenser.

Most of Disney use liquid eggs. There may be eggs in the back. But if a buffet will allow a special order, it is likely to be cooked in the back, rather than on-station, for multiple reasons. One is just "where the supplies are," another is to discourage people in line seeing it happen and then adding their special requests, which will slow down production/delivery at the station.

right but if they have an a la cart menu that serves eggs in a variety of ways, they have whole eggs in the kitchen. If you are at a buffet that only serves eggs one way, omelet, they don't necessarily have whole eggs available.

NOTE: ANYWHERE that has a scrambled egg tray on the buffet, I order eggs from the omelet station. I refuse to eat the "liquefied" egg mixtures. Or, I go to the omelet station as ask for scrambled eggs with ham or green peppers to be added. Great excuses.

Bay Lake / Contemporary is my home resort. We stay at least once every year since 2009.

We do Princess breakfasts or eat at The Wave.

I do not eat scrambled eggs from buffets and The Wave serves buffet.

I always order eggs from my Server and the kitchen obliges by preparing eggs as-liked.

Therefore the experience at the Wave is not necessarily the same as other buffet restaurants which do not have a la cart menus in addition to the buffet.
I have eaten at the Wave. I enjoyed it because I can order a la cart while my husband can get the buffet. But the OP asked about 1900 Park Fare and not the Wave.

Well Boma does not have an a la carte and I saw a couple of over easy eggs brought on a plate to the table next to us, so I'm guessing most if not all breakfast venues have whole eggs on hand as well. I was just wondering whether anyone had any experience, not guesses about what they believe Disney's policy should be in regard to special requests. I know a lot of people have strong feelings about how Disney should be handling special requests outside of the "rules" of how a restaurant normally operates but that is not always the same as Disney feels about it

Buffets do have real eggs (you know, the ones in a shell), and they can be brought in from the kitchen, if necessary.
