Will Boardwalk Inn open this year?

I realize it’s unknown at this time, but find it interesting that unless I’ve missed it there is no opening date planned for Boardwalk Inn as of yet. As a long-term BWV DVC owner I have to say I’m a bit surprised as it’s one of WDW‘s premier properties and in a popular location.

So am just curious... any guesses as to why it’s not on the list for a summer opening, and whether it might open by fall? We’ll be staying at BWV in mid-November, and the thought of the place having no “life” to it is a bit depressing!

My only guess is that it has to do with capacity restrictions....spreading out the "open" resorts probably allows them to not worry too much about "is this bus too full headed that way" or something like that?

We stayed at BWV this past November and walked over to the Boardwalk Inn's pool since it was open....it was almost creepy how quiet and empty that side of the boardwalk is!

The Boardwalk is shut down except for some of the restaurants. The DVC side is fully open right now and by Nov I imagine the inn side may be. I think Disney is keeping some of the hotels shut down due to the reduced capacity. That way they don't have to staff and clean some of the resorts while having enough space at the ones that are open for the number of guests that they are getting.

They simply don’t need it to be open as they have such reduced occupancy at this time.

Between the DVC villas at BWV, BCV and RIV, plus the cash rooms at YC and BC..opening May I believe.. plus the rooms still not declared at RIV for cash, plenty of deluxe options in the Epcot area.

Even the BWV aren't full.
