Will at Character Bfast get us in early?

We are doing one day at DL on January 1st.

We would like to go in early.

What are the earliest reservations for Minnie's bfast? How long does bfast take? would this possible give us some extra time in the park.

I am pretty sure we won't do the DCA park but just DL since we just have the one day and our daughter is 2.

Thanks -
Does anyone know what time you can do this? also, when you are done can you do other early entry rides ?

The point of the sign was that it says at the bottom that park access is unavailable. M&F's opens when the park does. There is no early access to the park via this bfast option.

We decided not to eat there this trip as I really like to do as many rides as possible during that first hour when the park opens. If it opened before the parks, then I would love to eat there as I have heard so many great reviews of the character interaction. As it is, we are eating at a hotel restaurant since they open at 7 a.m.

Hope this helps!

While I have heard that Minnie and Friends does sometimes have hours before the park opens, which gets you physically in earlier, it doesn't help you get on rides earlier.

Since the early morning few hours are vitally important for getting many things accomplished (easily, that is), I find it best to have a simple breakfast in the morning, get into the parks and play in Fantasyland before lines build (you cannot believe the difference in the line for Peter Pan 5 minutes after the park opens vs 20 minutes after), get a fast pass or two for later, etc. Get those couple/few hours done with many fun experiences under your belt, and THEN break for either a late breakfast or early early lunch.

So I would have some simple foods on hand, play in the park when it opens (getting there well before opening so you're among the first in the park), then later go to Minnie's for the character breakfast (probably around 10:30 is how I would do it).

But really, and know that we started our adult trips to Disneyland with one day trips with a little kidlet, I wouldn't take ANY time for a character meal with a one day trip unless it's REALLY important to you. Since I myself was a skittish child who had VERY bad reactions to characters, and we didn't yet know how DS would react, for the trips when he was 17 months old and then one year later, we didn't do character meals on our one day trips. It was during the trip when he was 2 that we realized he's blissfully UNlike me, and LIKES characters so for our trip when he was 3 (big package-deal trip) we did do a character meal. But when you only have one day, unless you really know how a little one is going to react, or really want to do the big meal anyway, I would skip a character meal.

Have you determined if your one day is on a Magic Morning day? That's Tues, Thurs, Sat, and Sun, and if it's a MM when you're not eligible, it means that when you enter the park, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will already be full of people and have long lines. If you're staying onsite, you're eligible for MM on a MM day, by the way, even if you only have a one day ticket.

Lastly, while DL was the only park we visited on those one-day trips...when we finally made it over to DCA we *regretted* it. Big time. Bug's Land is SO much more little kid friendly. No "scary adventures", no dark and creepy line for Peter Pan, no scary Queen of Hearts, an easier "teacup" sort of ride (Ladybug Boogie)...just a pretty space with music from Toy Story and Bug's Life, with outdoor rides. Our family likes bug's land so much better than fantasyland now...we might not be typical, but you won't know until you go. :)

But I wouldn't think less of you at all if you do what we did, and just go to DL for your first one-day trip with a 2 year old. Most everyone does that. :)

Please forgive me if I'm also seeming to not quite get the Minnie's Breakfast timeline, either. Does Minnie's open at the same time relative to park opening every day or does it depend on whether there is MM/EE offered that day? If it's a Wednesday or Friday, for example (non MM/EE) days, and DL opens at 8:00, does Minnie's also open at 8:00? Or does it open at 7:00 (and thus, the "park access unavailable" message? On Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, (assuming a regular park entry at 8:00, EE/MM at 7:00) does Minnie's open at the same time as the EE/MM (7:00) or an hour earlier (6:00 :rotfl:) or at regular park entry time at 8:00? Or is this all a moot point as it just depends on the season and the day?

We are going on a cruise the next day so we could do the Char. bfast then without giving up park time.

I would love to try and catch stuff at both parks but as we will be recovering from a 4 hour time difference, I don't want to end up with a major meltown. BUT, that being said, DCA seems to offer more SHOWS (like Playhouse and Alladin and Crush ) that would be less stressful than lining up for rides.

I've got 4 months to make some decisions....

See my other post - to make a decision hard - we will be there New Years Day (one of busiest days of year!)

If the park opens at 8 am and it is a non MM day, 1st seating is usually at 8:10. If it IS a MM day, then expect the first seating to be 7:10.

My understanding is that you need park admission to eat at Minnie & Friends (Plaza Inn). So if you do not have a valid MM you can not get in early (during MM). Having a PS does not get you enterance.

I don't think this is correct. :) As far as what I have heard, they have a clipboard at the park entrance with names on it for people who have P.S.'s before the park opens. They make sure you are on that list and you are allowed to enter early for your P.S. Since the ressies at Minnie's start during MM, you can still get in at that time if you have a PS, regardless of whether or not you have MM privileges. :)

I think the OP needs to make a call to Disney Dinning to find out the real story. Sometimes the only way to know for sure is to ask the source.

There have been lots of posts on different threads about getting a PS for Minnie's during MM when you don't have MM privileges. I've seen several accounts of people (without MM privileges) who have had 7:15 P.S.'s for Minnie's on MM days when the park opens at 8:00. I have an very early P.S. right now for a MM day and I have no MM privileges. The dining CM that I spoke to didn't even know what the park hours or MM hours were yet, but my ressie is so early that I can't imagine that it would be during regular park hours. (8:30 P.S. for a weekday in October). They never ask you if have entry into the park or not when you make your P.S. They just give P.S.'s out for when they start regardless of whether or not you have MM. Yes, it's always best to check and call on things, but I think the experience of others can also give us an idea of what to expect. :)

You are right that Minnie's opens when the park does, and that includes opening early on MM days when the park opens early. The sign says "priority early morning entrance" because you can enter the park early (before the regular park opening) if you have a priority seating for that time. (This would be for anyone with a PS during that time....not just MM holders). At the gate, they will have a clipboard of the names of people who have PS's. Once they verify that you have one, they will let you enter for your breakfast at Minnie's. :-)

Maybe it has changed in the last couple years because I thought back when they started this breakfast if you didn't have eary entry (as it was back then) you had to wait until park opening ...

What is to prevent someone from making a PS and then skipping it to go to MM?

We've got priority seating for Minnie and Friends at 9:40am on a wednesday (non-magic morning) in September when the park doesn't open until 10am.

I stand corrected. Very cool for you!!

ETA: Now that I think about it, it would make sense for them to fill PS times prior to a 10 am park opening because they switch it back to a regular restaurant for lunch.

The hours for Minnie's breakfast are listed on Disneyland's website as being "At park opening until 11 A.M." They need to change that because that's confusing when there's a late park opening. You're right....... It wouldn't make sense for them to say "park opening" on a day when the park opens at 10 A.M. That would only give a very short time for breakfast before they closed to get ready for lunch.

It's been our experience that when the park opens at 10 that they allow people on to Main Street (shops are open) at 9:30. I think they may open Plaza Inn at that time so it would be possible to have a 9:40 PS on a non MM when the park "rope drop" at the end of Main Street is at 10.

I got an 8.10 AM reservation for Friday 30th October, also non magic-morning day.

I was told by friends that Minnie does seat earlier than the park opens. A cast member meets you outside the gates and walks you down Main Street. I'm guessing they will make sure you make it to the Plaza Inn and then stay inside. ;)
