We are leaving Friday for a quick trip (I'm mixing business with pleasure, ):Pinkbounc I'm taking two of my kids who have no clue they are going and my teen, who knew the other two were going but just found out she gets to come too.

Can anyone give me an idea of how the weather is? And the crowds? Especially at night, do the crowds thin out or are they going strong?

Thanks!

We were there in the beginning of July and the crowds were not bad a t all. We did all the rides and did not wait long. I did notice the crowds thinning even more at night.

Have Fun. I am sure your children will be thrilled when they find out!!

We were there 7/28 thru 8/4 -

crowds - pretty busy, some rides at MK had 60+min waits.

weather - rained everyday, sometimes not until 10:00, so at least you could do stuff, somedays earlier, on Thur it started raining at 4:30 and never stopped that night. When it rained the crowds really thinned out and we did stuff in our ponchos!

Hope y'all have a great time!

We were there 7/27-8/3--it was very hot and often crowded...it seemed way worse at Animal Kingdom than at any of the other parks. It rained (sometimes poured) everyday so ponchos were ubiquitous--I would have thought that it would have thinned out with some of the monster thundershowers, but during one, I noticed that R&R coaster had a 60-80 minute wait throughout!

In general, however, I found that we could get by with fastpasses and 30 minute waits for almost everything. The hardest things to schedule for me, were Voyage of the Little Mermaid (45-75 minute waits as standby, fastpass for 1-3 hours in advance) and the Animation tour, as we inevitably just missed 1 tour and would have to wait 20 minutes for the next one, which was supposed to be around 30-40 minutes in duration...by which time we would have missed our next fastpass/ps/etc....

We were there from 7/31 to 8/4.
I guess we had forgotten how crowded and hot it can be at WDW in the middle of the summer (we usually go during the off-season). Crowds were pretty heavy. In fact, the MK on Monday, 8/4, was the most crowded I have ever seen any of the Disney parks. Wait times for Splash Mountain and Space Mountain were posted as 120 and 100 minutes respectively.
The rain issue--apparently, Florida is receiving much more rain recently than the usual "quick afternoon thunderstorms" which are so frequently discussed here. We talked to several Florida residents while we were there and they said that this is very unusual. As others have posted, it rained every day, usually for several hours. In fact, we did not have a single dry evening for our entire stay.
Don't let this discourage you--we had a great time despite the rain and crowds. Just be prepared and make sure to bring those ponchos! :D

We were there July 27- August 4. We thought that the MK on July 28 and August 4 and MGM on July 29 was VERY VERY busy!!!!!!!! The only other time that we have seen crowds like these were on Christmas Day and New Years Eve!!!!!!  I hope that the crowds have thinned out for you!!! Have a great time!!!:)

Most of the kids are back in school this week, so crowds should be less. Weekends get a lot of AP locals, though. Crouds & rain is up from last year. Get to the parks EARLY. Rope Drop Early. beat crouds & rain.
Have a magical visit.

We were there from 7/26 through 8/2. Fantasmic was cancelled three times because of weather. We either had afternoon thunderstorms about 3PM or evening thunderstorms about 8PM every day. When it wasn't raining, it was HOT. Lines were long by 10:30 or so. Waterparks closed everyday by 11 or 11:30, then reopened by 3 or so. We waited for Kali River Rapids one afternoon for 65 minutes. When we got off the wait was 85 minutes. We had been at Blizzard Beach all day and wanted one "quick" ride on Kali. We met a nice family in line, so the time passed fairly quickly. If you are staying on the property, use the Extra Magic Hour for MK and other parks if you like the rides they have open. Or do the E-ticket night at MK. Lines were shorter then.

we were in Animal Kingdom today, and it was packed by the time we arrived at 3. Very, very hot. We used fast pass, which had short return times through the early afternoon, but it was very hot and crowded. We were in DQ last night, and it was packed at 10 pm. It did not rain tonight, which was a first in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully crowds will start to thin, but there seem to be a great number of visitors from the UK here.
