With the price of gas increasing everyday, do you think airline tickets will also increase in price? We are going to WDW in December and I can now get a reasonable price of $795 including taxes and fees for a family of four. I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide whether to purchase now or wait for a deal. But then again, what if prices go up instead of down?!:confused3

Yeppers!!! This a.m. I looking at prices also in December out of Denver for 4. They have been averaging around $1271.00---I kept procrastinating and by lunch the total had gone up to $1,500. OUCH!!!! Now I am waiting, how much worse could it get, Iheard in June the gas prices will subside, the first chance I get at a good rate I am taking it and not thinking twice:mad:

Dogsmom: I think $795 is an average ticket price from the Northeast, less than $200 PP. Yes, sometimes we've been able to fly down for $160 (like this September) but most often we pay between $180 and $200 from BOS or PVD. If the flight times are good, the airline is one you have confidence in, and you can do it now, I would not wait. Even JetBlue, Southwest, and AirTran have been up around the $175 mark with taxes and all... Are you willing to risk as much as $400 ($100 PP) to save maybe, and that's a big maybe, $40PP? If the flights aren't what I really wanted or it was an airline I really didn't like, forget about it, otherwise....

JUMP!:yay:

PatsGirl, after reading your post I decided. I booked Air Tran out of Philadelphia for December. I got the two nonstop flights that I wanted and I had already figured on paying around $800.00. I also got the insurance at an extra $59 for the four of us. We both have elderly parents and I think it's worth it, not to be out $800 if something happens. Thanks for your input!

In the real world, if the cost of your supplies (Gas) goes up, you realize this and adjust.

In the airline world..... who knows. Realistically if fuel goes up they should raise rates, but the reason so many of them go in and out of bankruptcy is an industury unwillingness to face the economic facts...

When in December are you going? I was able to get a super DING out of Philly in early December last year.

We will be there 12/6 to 12/11. Please don't tell me about any super fares as I have already booked with AirTran! $99 going down and $79 coming back.
