Will accessories...off brands OK?

Santa is bringing our family a Wii for Christmas. I had picked up a few games (Toy Story Mania being one), and noticed that the tiny picture in the corner on the back seems to mention needing numchucks (that may be the wrong term), in addition to the regular remote. I had been under the impression that all the games would play with just the remote, but would play better with the extras, but now I'm wondering If I'm misremembering.

Anyway, I really don't have tons to spend on additional accessories, but want to be sure our four kids can all play. I saw a set of Nyko accessories at Walmart..$39 for a remote and numchuck. I don't know if that's the best deal, but the Wii remote costs that by itself.

Does anyone know if they will work fine even though it's not the Wii brand? Are there any good deals on Will accessories or off-brand accessories?

TIA

Nyko is a pretty decent off brand. It won't quite have the longevity of nintendo products, but probably longer than your kids interest in the system. (i mean years).

i know a friend of mine bought some stuff off newegg for slightly cheaper than retail. He bought a second wii-mote-motion-nun chuck for like 50$ or something. I'll ask him tomorrow when i see him.

You will need nunchucks to even play boxing on the wii sports games that is included with the system. We bought the wii on the day one release date way back 2 years ago, so I cant rightfully remember what is included. I think we bought another remote and nunchuck-- i thought it came with one nunchuck.

We have a few of the Nyko brand stuff for our Wii but not a controller or a nunchuck (not yet my dd wants a pink set and ds wants a blue set and DH and I are talking about it). We have the chargers for the wii motes, we have some kind of gun accessory that my dh bought for a game he plays. We just bought a wireless sensor bar.

We find no problems with their products and they work fine.

Wanted to add that Mad Catz is also a good brand. We've been using this off brand since they first started making off brand accessories.

It does come with one nunchuck, but I have played all of the games on the first game that comes with it, and I have never in my life used the nunchuck so you don't need it. Oh, I did use it with Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. Let's just say, I am not very technologically savvy when it comes to video games.:rotfl: My 8 yo kept saying "It's okay mommmy." :rolleyes1

We buy our extra parts at Gamestop and they have their own brand that is very reliable.

I bought some off brand nunchuck two-pack at BJ's last year that lasted maybe a week or two (one lasted slightly longer than the other). We bought a Nintendo one after that and it has been going strong since. Just my experience!
