Will a Savanna View really be a Savanna View???

The wife and I are in the process of purchasing DVC at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and are considering taking the kids in May 2009 when Kidani Village opens up. However, I know that Phase II with the new Pembe Savanna isn't scheduled to open until Sept. 2009. So if we go in may and "pay" for a Savanna View, will receive a room with a view of one of the current savannas" Or is there a chance that will be looking at an empty savanna? Are the rooms with views of the new savanna being opened as part of Phase II or will they open in May sans animals? Thanks!!!

I have not heard that particular issue addressed, but my feeling is that they would not charge "savanna view" points for a room that has no animals to view. They are going to be refunding points to people who end up on sunset savanna when the animals are off exhibit, so I would expect the same for Kidani.

I would like to know this too. We are paying for a savannah view for our late June trip and wouldn't do so if it won't be ready. How much of Kadini do you think will be open? I assume the pool and restaraunts and bus stop will be? At least that's what I was told, anyone hear anything different?

I haven't seen any info about what makes up "Phase 2" other than the Pembe Savanna. I can't imagine them opening up Phase 1 without the restaurant and pool. But that's a complete guess.

All "savanna" view rooms at Kidani that open in May will face the Sunset Savanna and the animals will be in it. Pool, lobby, restaurant, store, etc. are all supposed to be ready for May opening.
