Will a Coach backpack "hold up"?

My daughter is a lover of all things Coach. She is a college student and has seen several girls with Coach backpacks on campus. For Christmas she would love to have one but I wonder if it would hold up to the load she usually carries? On a typical day her bookbag holds two to three textbooks and a binder filled with notebooks, paper,etc.

Also, if you live near an outlet do they ever carry backpacks? There are none in our state and the store near us (Dillard's) doesn't carry backpacks.

Ooh, I don't know. I mean, I have a Coach purse that's (eesh) 17 years old now that still looks all but brand new despite having been through the wringer, but it was never trying to handle a load like that. If it were me, I'd probably be hesitant to buy it because I'd be scared all the time that I'd damage it with that much weight.

Oh, I don't know. I wouldn't get one because it would get tossed around the dirty, and maybe even stolen.

How about a new coach purse?

I have a large coach satchel that I used for a diaper bag for my oldest son. He's now 19. I took that bag with me to the park, threw it around in the car and simply beat it to heck.
I never conditioned it or any thing. Its great.
If it's a leather coach bag it will hold up.

If you are talking about the Poppy style backpacks, I really don't think they are meant to carry a heavy load like that. I've seen them in the full-price retail stores (not at the outlets) and while they are very cute and well made, I don't think they can handle that many books and other supplies. They are really more large purse-sized than backpack-sized, if that makes sense.

I have seen Coach backpacks at the outlets, but I wouldn't recommend them to be used to carry heavy things. You see a lot of posts here about bags that are REALLY old and held up well. Coach isn't made the same anymore since they're now made in China. They workmanship is HORRIBLE and they'll just relying on the Coach name now. I wouldn't waste your money. Most likely it will fall apart with that kind of use.

Thanks for all the good advice. Sounds like a new purse will be under the tree. Now to decide on the best one.
