Will 1 day be enough?

We went to Universal in 2011. We did both parks and enjoyed the HP stuff a lot. We have decided to go back at the end of our Disney trip in early December. We are staying at PBay for two nights. We'd like to just get 1 day park-to-park tickets and do mostly the two HP parts plus the train, and then hit some of the other main headliners, plus maybe hit the Grinch as stuff at night.

Since we are going in a low crowd time (dec 10-11), and will have fotla, will we be able to get most of it done? Thanks.

you should be able to get a lot done on that thursday.
staying on site allows you the early entry and express pass.

You should be able to get a lot done in one day. Since your planning on staying onsite for 2 nights, you might want to keep checking for annual passholder discounts on the hotel room. You may save enough on the hotel to afford the increased price of an power pass. Then, you wouldn't feel bad slipping into the park for a few hours on the 10th or the 12th.
