Is there anything to see along the route of the Wildlife Express Train at AK, or is it just transportation to Rafiki's Planetwatch? Looking over the offerings at Rafiki's, my kids won't be interested, but if there are animals visible from the train, I would do the round trip to see that.

Was just there Saturday, it was my DH first time getting to do the rides at AK. I took him to Rafiki's planet watch to get to listen to the outdoor sounds!

Rafiki's planet watch has a petting zoo area outside of it. I'm not sure if it that interests you.

On the way to it we did see part of the safari ride, however we only spotted an ostrich. You do get to see the buildings that the animals are called to every night, however the time we were there about 1:00, there were no animals visible. Honestly if Rafiki's planet watch isn't your thing, the train ride probably isn't either.

Tip: If you do go on the train, sit in the front row of the train. On a hot Florida day, it is scorching sitting in the second row, you get absolutely no breeze!

Nothing to see, just the buildings where the animals are kept at night. There were some amphibians there and my kids liked meeting Rafiki. We also saw doctors performing surgery on a bird, which WAS cool.
