I understand that the VWL are for DVC members. But am I correct if they aren't filled the general public can use them too? We have reservations for a deluxe room at the WL (regular rate). I checked the disney reservation site and there are vacancies at the WVL for just about the same price. Does that mean I could change my reservation to the Villas? Are the Villas quieter than the lodge?

Thanks....Lori

I have never stayed VWL but I do know that you can rent points from a DVC member and stay there at a very reasonable price. You can check it out in the DVC section of these boards. Good Luck!!!

In addition to renting them from DVC members, you can book them through Disney but only 6 months ahead of time.

VWL are quieter than the lodge. The VWL are connected to the lodge by a covered walk way which is great if it rains. If you decide to rent points from a DVC member, maid service is not included. VWL also has a great gym and quiet pool.

VWL is much quieter than WL. You can rent VWL directly from Disney, but you are more likely to get it a LOT cheaper if you rent points from a DVC owner. Check out the rent/trade board over in the DVC forum. Daily Housekeeping is not included,if you stay on points. The room is fully cleaned on the 4th day and if you stay longer than 7 they will change your towels again on the 8th day, but housekeeping can be done daily if you choose to pay for it.

Check out the DVC board if you have any questions. The people there are very helpful.

Be warned though, if you stay in the Villas, and if you travel to Disney at least once every three years, you may be VERY tempted to purchase into the Vacation Club!!!!!

Just wondering which room at the villas was about the same price as the deluxe room? A 1 BR villa only holds 4 people (+ 1 under 3 yo in a crib) and doesn't have as many beds as the deluxe room. Not sure if this is important to you. I know the deluxe rooms hold 6.

The deluxe WL room has 2 (queen?) beds in the bedroom, plus a sleeper sofa. the 1 BR has a king bed and a sleeper sofa in the living room, plus a full kitchen & washer dryer.

The 2 BR has a king BR and a BR with 2 queens or a queen plus a sleeper sofa. And a sofa bed in the living room. 2 bathrooms.

The studios are just one room with a queen bed + sofa bed.

I know you didn't ask for any of this info, but I hope it's helpful!

Thank you so much for the help. I have learned so much from these boards. I am driving my husband crazy!! I'm more excited than my kids about this trip!!
