Wilderness sold out for first week in dec. studio

Another data point. We had a BCV 1BR reservation Dec 3-11, and just a few days before the 7-month deadline, I called to see if we could extend it to include the night of the 11th (Sun). No problem! But no doubt the situation has changed by now.

I'm sure there is a lot of "thrashing" around the 7-month point. When they are booked "solid" it may not really be so solid, as some people will be switching resorts and openings will appear and disappear. If you don't get what you want the first time, put yourself on a waiting list immediately.

We had booked our early Dec visit at the 11 month window in a 1BR at SSR but called at the 7 month window to change. We wanted VWL, it wasn't available but they offered BCV. We took BCV but waitlisted for VWL. Within a week, DVC called to offer us our waitlist. So, keep the faith, the waitlist does work!

I can hear my "persuasive argument" to my DH now: "...we need to add on right away, the only rooms left are 2 BR's"LOL

I think the 3 of us would get lost in a 2 BR (almost 1,100 square feet - think my 1st house was smaller); certainly would get spoiled for future trips.

I will not even do the upgrade from a studio to a 1 BR, never mind a 2 BR, LOL. DH says I am really stingy on points.

Just got off the phone with DVC reservations. My waitlist for Dec 6 - 14 just came through and that's our home resort! Tried to book all 8 nights in a studio back in January and could only get 6 - 9. Waitlist just came through today for the rest of the nights. Probably someone changed resorts at 7-month window. Very excited!! Love VWL!!

How Funny. I called this week and changed my VWL studio from Dec 10-14 to OKW for the week prior. I wonder if you got my cancelled reservation????

But unfortunately I am on waitlist for one more night at OKW which was all booked up. Wish me luck.

We got a 1 bedroom at OKW for Dec. 4-8, and from the sounds of it, there were more available. MS also suggested SSR was available.

We are on waitlist for a 1 bedroom for dec 4 at OKW. Seems like they are filled up now.

Only three in my family now but we're taking our cousins too and they have three kids.

With 8 in our group we really need the two bedroom to spread out.

My DH I get the bedroom with the whirlpool, My DD and their DD, both 12, get the sofa. and the rest will be in the bedroom on the other side.

Thinking about bringing my 2 yr old nephew also but we'll see.....

(This is our first time not in a studio so i'm afraid we'll get spoiled and won't be able to go back. )

I think that's the general idea...once you experience the more lux accom., addonitis strikes.

When we have to take the whole gang of ours, think we'll go with 2 studios if the points are comparable.

Yes, that sounds right. Even last week there were dates over the Thanksgiving weekend that were booked at VWL and BWV, and that was before the 7 month window hit. I made sure to grab our VWL dates for the following week while I still had the home resort advantage. I was successful in booking the BCV at the 7 month windows for Nov 25 - Nov 29, but I called day by day.

For the future that is what I'd suggest. It looks like you waited until today to book the entire time (4th - 12th). You might have had more luck if you started calling each day starting on May 5th.

The first week of December is extremely popular with DVC members. The weather is good, the points are low, and all the holiday festivities are in full swing.

Your right. I forgot we where in may already and at the 7mth window. I just couldnt believe it was sold out already,when my sis last yr in july called and was able to get a studio..
