Wilderness Lodge Walking Path to MK

Looking at Google Earth, putting in a walking path from WL to MK seems like a no braineR. Especially since they are doing it from VGF. Am I missing something?

There is NO walking path from WL to MK. There is only waking path to Ft Wilderness. There is bus or boat transportation. There is a walking path from CR to MK.

It seems like they could have put in a continuous sidewalk on World Drive to allow for guests to walk from WL to MK, and Contemporary to TTC. There's a section of sidewalk existent today that goes under the water bridge, but it stops shortly thereafter on both sides. The walk from the front door of WL to MK gate would be 3/4 of a mile by walking down World Drive and then exiting into the MK bus area. This is about the same distance from the GF to the MK via the new bridge.

Coming off the parking lot, they need 472' of new sidewalk from the WL parking lot to the existing sidewalk on World drive, and 395' of sidewalk from World Drive to the bus stop. They'd also have to put a traffic light where you'd cross World Drive with a pedestrian button, in order to prevent the inevitable future lawsuit where someone, thinking they are in the "Disney Bubble", walks in front of a bus going by at 40mph.

I’m sorry as I’m not familiar with the roads and you might be saying this, but it seems they would just need a bridge over the channel and you are right at the contemporary

@sky2823 The two channels between the cabins and the Contemporary are used by the water ferries. In order to traverse those channels to the Contemporary parking lot, you'd need a bridge that is over 800 feet long and 30' tall. 850' of sidewalk and a traffic light would cost less than a tenth of a bridge that size.
