Ok I have a decision to make by tomorrow....I am trying to decide between a Studio at Wilderness Lodge and a 1BR at OKW. I am bringing 3 others with me that have never been to WDW before. If I plan to staying at a 1BR at OKW I would have to purchase an additional 15 vacation points so cost would be $150 and would have more room for the 4 of us. If i keep my current reservation at Wilderness lodge in a studio I know it is closer to MK and has more amenities.:confused3

Any help would be greatly appreciated......:worship:

I would go I bed at okw hands down. We love the 1 bed at okw we love the resort.

I'll probably be in the minority here BUT I LOVE VWL and am NOT a fan of OKW. So I would go to VWL. Our first DVC stay ever was at OKW and I don't know how many times we said that week that we were SOOO glad we hadn't brought anybody with us because we'd have been embarrassed to admit we'd bought DVC. (Our unit was gross.) :guilty: Now, if you have been to OKW before then you know what you're getting into - and of course now they're doing refurbs so you might luck out.

No question, take the one bedroom. Much as I love VWL, if I had to share a studio with 3 other people, I wouldn't go at all.

Not only will you have plenty of space, but you'll have that extra bed in the living room. Two people in a king, one on a sofa bed and one on the chair bed is a whole heck of a lot better than two on a queen bed and two on a sofabed.

Much as I love the convenience of VWL (and so many other things) I'd go with a 1 BR at OKW. I can't imagine staying in a studio with 4 people unless some of them are small children.

Thanks for all your input :)

I am going to call MS in a few hours when they open and book the 1BR.

Someone said there is a chair that turns into a bed in the 1BR??

Yes. There's a sleeper chair in OKW's 1 bedrooms.

That's an easy one! The 1 bedroom over a studio any day, and for sure the 1 bedroom at OKW with all the extra space and the extra sleeping chair.

The sleeper chair in OKW 2 BR - mattress measures 30x78 inches.

I would go with the OKW 1 BR for all the reasons mentioned above and the big balcony.

There are also two sinks for getting ready in the morning etc which could be a help plus the tub and the shower could be in use at the same time if needed.

Depends on what you want. I want my home-away-from-home to be a place I can imagine doing more than just sleeping, so I'd grab the 1BR in a heartbeat.

My first choice would be a 2BR at VWL, but since that wasn't one of the options...

Between the two choices, I would have to go with a 1BR at OKW if only for the extra space.

Or think about renting a 2BR or 3BR at Wyndham Bonnet Creek (which you should be able to find for $100/night or less) and bank your DVC points for next year.

I've stayed in both a studio at WLV and 1 bedroom at OKW. Definitely the 1 bedroom. The 1 bedrooms at OKW are enormous! Hope you got one!!

You stayed there once and your unit was gross, and that means you don't like the resort? That could happen anywhere. It happened to me at BWV, and VBR. In all my trips staying at OKW, I've only had one unit that was gross, and I've been staying there almost every year since '94. That's a lot of rooms I've stayed in.

One BR at OKW. Four people in a dinky VWL studio is nuts! You could even do a studio at OKW and have more space than at VWL.

1 bedroom at OKW. No only is the room bigger but I find the rooms at the VWL dated. Love the lobby, hate all that Dynasty green. :scared: ;)

Okay, so you got me with that one. How in the heck are VWL rooms dated???? They fit a theme...Wilderness...logs...rustic...

You didn't say how long your stay is going to be. We love all the resorts, each has something special going for them. Hence we rarely stay more than 3, 4 at most, days anywhere. So if you could spend 3 days or 2 in each you will know next time exacly where you want to stay and in what.

Have fun.
