Boulder Ridge is the original Villas and is a separate building. Copper Creek is made up of hotel rooms inside the main lodge that were converted to DVC Villas.
Right now copper creek is better. Boulder Ridge is due for a refurbishment that got pushed back due to covid, so the rooms are really showing age. Copper Creek is also more centrally located.

Both are great! Staying at either provides access to all amenities so you'll be good either way. I think your decision will be made by what is available as both tend to book relatively quickly right now. March is already starting to book up (depending on room, etc.).
I wouldn't say CCV is hands-down better. It's important to know that CCV studios are smaller and have a hard limit 4, and VWL/BRV sleeps 5 natively. The 1BR at BRV allows 5 (non-natively, no bed for #5), and CCV 1BR are also hard limit 4.
It is also easier to find rental points for BRV.
There are a lot of different ways to define "better."
Boulder Ridge is practically fully booked March-May. I booked 11 months for a week in April and it looks like that may be in the middle of the refurbishment.
We own at Boulder Ridge (20 years) and I really don't have a preference. I love both. The sleeping arrangements usually factor in --if we want the extra bed. Depending on who we go with, they may want to share the sofa bed or split between the sofa bed and twin.
