Just wondering if anyone has stayed at WL lately & what they like/dislike about the resort. Its the only resort I have never been in & we are thinking of booking 2 nights in December.

We stayed there a few years ago. Loved that it was all compact and not spread out. Loved it was so close to Magic Kingdom you just had to get on the boat in the morning. Loved that Whispering Cannon is in the lobby and didn't have to travel to far for one night's dinner.

Did not like that there is no real food court for breakfast etc. They do have Roaring Forks but it is very small.

I thought the rooms seemed smaller then the one we had at POR. We had a bunk bed room on the bottom floor.

It is a beautiful Hotel though, you got to just love the lobby and all the beams. It reminds me of AKL with different a theme I guess.

Thanks everyone. I think I will book it for the 2 nights. We stayed at Port Orleans last year & it wasn't decorated that much for xmas & we were kinda disappointed. From all I hear this is nicely done at xmas so it should be nice. Thanks again :)

This has been our favorite hotel since it opened and is now our home resort. I love the fact that you seem like it is so far away from everything, but just beyond the tall trees lies all the action. The boat ride to the MK is the best. If you get a woodsview room, try and request a room on the 6'th floor above the WC restaurant. It is so nice to walk out of your room and be greeted by the front lobby. You will also be able to see the MK fireworks from your balcony. Also curl up on the leather furniture in front of the fireplaces on either the 4'th or 5'th floors at the front of the hotel while reading the paper or a book. I love it while having my morning coffee and watching everyone getting their day started. It is also very beautiful at Christmas time.

Stayed there for the first time last year (after 10 years of wdw we hadn't been there) and I would agree it was my favourite. Beautiful, peaceful, well layed out, really nice. Take the boat across to magic Kingdom from the dock....really realxing. Have a great a stay!:thumbsup2

We have been at WL just before Christmas and it is just beautiful. We checked out several resorts to see the decorations, and WL was the best. We also loved that it was easy to get to MK (the boat ride is part of the fun) and then enter the park or hop on the monorail. We had a courtyard view, and we loved being able to see the landscaping/waterfall/pool from our room.

If you want more info, check on the resorts board as there is usually a very large thread of WL FAQ that has almost all the information you need on the first few pages, or, you can post a question and a WL vet will answer it. We highly recommend it, and plan to stay at WL whenever we aren't taking our camper down to FW.

Hi there. We just got back from spending seven glorious nights at the WL!! I would highly recommend it. It is beautiful, with two lovely swimming pools, a beach area, the geyser that erupts hourly, amazing lobby, etc.! We loved the proximity both to MK and FW, and the fact that you can boat to MK if you choose. The electrical water pageant at night was a treat, as well as the MK fireworks, which we could view from our balcony (and we were only on the 2nd floor). I would be happy to answer any specific questions you might have, as it is still very fresh in my mind! (Sigh - back to work now, and back to reality).

I do have one quick question ... do all rooms have balconies or d I have to book a specific room type re: woods view or courtyard view. Any info would be great. I am so happy that veryone who has stayed at this resort like it, I plan on booking this weekend.

I am pretty sure that all of the rooms have balconies. For us, this was such a great feature. It was nice to sit outside (no bugs!) at the end of a long day, while the kids unwound with a show. I also forgot to mention that we had bunkbeds in our room. Not all of the rooms have these, but if you can get them (if you have more than one child), I would highly recommend it!
