How are the studio's at WLV? Currently have 10 nights at SSR but thinking of splitting my stay.

Wondering how the studio's are. Always wanted to stay there but was afraid that a studio might not due the villa justice and taint my view for future stays.

Is it nice? I heard the pull out sofa is bad.

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks

Layout of studios at VWL and SSR are pretty much the same. VWL is a bit more woodsy in tones, where SSR is brighter. Dont get me wrong, we love VWL, and the darker tones help us to sleep in a bit longer.

Actually, by VWL being smaller than any other DVC resort, it makes it a bit more cozy feeling to me. I dont think you will be dissapointed.

As for the pullouts, they have recently been replaced, and DD, being the one who always sleeps on it, gave it a big thumbs up:thumbsup2 for comfort and said it was nicer than the older ones.

We have stayed at both and other then what was mentioned in the above post, don't see much of a difference.

we have stayed in both too
enjoyed both stays

if had a choice would pick WLV first

If I had known about vwl when we purchased, I would have found a resale. It is so beautiful. Yes, I love my home resort, too, but VWL was just magical for me. It really suits me, and I look at the resales every day looking for an add-on there. Just love it....
But SSR is quite nice, too. I just like trees, and well, SSR is lacking in that department.::yes::

Another poor vacation will fall under the spell of VWL.pixiedust: And things will never be the same.:scared:
Enjoy one of our favs.

Well this sounds VERY encouraging to me. I just booked the studio at WV yesterday!! Sounds PERFECT...just the 2 of us this trip, no kiddos. Plan on relaxing, and taking in the resort everyday. Since we're going in Aug, we plan to take a 3 hour break every afternoon. Time to get a bite to eat, swim and enjoy the resort!! :cheer2:

A studio is a studio is a studio. Except for OKW which has two queen beds.

We stayed in a studio at VWL in Jan. '08 and LOVED it. We are not inclined to use larger units tho in order to maximize our points. We much prefer the split bath layout like at VWL over the all-in-one bathroom like at OKW. You can't help but fall in love with VWL.:thumbsup2

one studio does not have a balcony #4533 I think. They tried to give it to us on our 1st DVC stay but I knew form these boards about this room and refused it. I need a balcony for my coffee.
This room should be :cool1: in the Disney inventory for cash not DVC pts.

fyi, VWL has gotten high marks in many guidebooks, particularly the Luxury Guide to WDW Resort:thumbsup2

it our fav overall:flower3:

Are you able to see MK fireworks from VWL?

Thanks,

Re. Fireworks from VWL beach. I do not know if MNSSHP fireworks are positioned differently, but we were at the beach closest to the dock, not closest to the bar, and we had a pretty good view of the fireworks from the party.
Another thing...people here have suggested going to the parking lot, walking through the CM's parking lot, and there is a beach there that you can view the fireworks from. We never did that. The night we saw the MNSSHP's fireworks, we were at the beach to see the Electrical night parade. At any given moment, we had to choose, watch the parade or watch the fireworks!:goodvibes

Bobbi:)

We love the WL so much, we bought resale in order to have that as our home resort. The VWL lobby is gorgeous and cozy, and the entire Lodge is a great place to walk around. The boat to Magic Kingdom is...magic. :)

The rooms have a lot of dark woods and red paint in the bathroom/kitchen area, so it may be a bit difficult to put makeup on.

The best part? The music that is played outside of the lodge...if you open a window, you can hear it all day. :upsidedow
