Going to try and book a standard room here in a few days when our plans get more solid for our early December trip. I have been reading up on the WL (Poly fan here) and it is all new to me. Was just wondering if anyone has had a great standard room (view, location, close to boat dock that sort of thing) please let me know. Thanks for all the help.

I would ask for a room on the north side of the building on one of the top floors. This gives you a nice view of the fireworks at MK.

Hopefully you're talking about 2005, not 2004. I stayed at WL twice this year, but was never in standard. Woods and Courtyard. This resort is so compact, it really doesn't matter where you are, it's pretty convinent to all areas.

Oh no yes I am talking about 04. Do they even offer the AP rate for a standard room or a FL residential rate.

I wish you luck!! We decided to go to WDW for a long weekend (Dec. 10-13) and have been on the phone many times. Checking on a cast rate, only A/S sports was available--nothing at any of the Deluxes unless you can afford a suite. I have tried the AP rates today also and the only thing available was a 1 bedroom suite at the AKL. There is also very little available at rack rate for my weekend. After reading other threads I hear the weekend of December 4th was even worse. I don't want to scare you, but you need to get on the phone and check out your options and try to book something. CR was my first choice, with WL my second, and the WLV my third, so it's sad to see that A/S sports is what I ended up with. But I'll take it considering there were no other options. I would love to read an update on how this all works out for you.

I have been calling for 2 weeks trying to get any deluxe for the weekend of the 10th. They are all booked up. I have a one bedroom booked at SSR for that weekend. There is nothing left anywhere. I keep calling but have had no luck yet.

These are Lodge or Woods view rooms, not standard...I believe.

Oh no, I thought December was low crowds????Why are all the resorts booking up???Whats going on that I do not know about??

December is a popular time of the year to visit Disney World. All the events like Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, The Candlight Procession and the Resort decorations bring the people packing.

The way I have heard it explained is that the Disney Resorts fill and the surronding non-Disney property hotels are less "packed" than in the summer months. I'm sure that there is exceptions to this rule but again the resorts go fast for December.

This is especially true for the WL as it is one of the several resorts that lets out all the stops and dresses up the place to the nines with the Christmas decorations.

The standard rooms are the ones that "face out" from the lobby (not the lobby rooms that overlook the courtyard)
and look out over either the bus stops (south) or over the loading dock/bay (North). The North standard rooms do have a good view of the monrail and wishes fireworks.

Hope this helps, good luck with your plans. Please let us know where you decided to book.

Just called today and could not get anything for the days December 2-6 but a presidential suite at BW. I asked If I could have it for the same price as a standard room rate at the WL and he did not see the humor in that. ;)
