I just booked our sleigh ride for December.:santa:

Do we need to tip our driver? If so, what is the going rate?

Thanks.

Paula:cool1:

When do these start? Is it only for December or are they doing them Thanksgiving week? Thanks

Sara

Yes, you should tip, and beware, you can't add the charge to your room card!!! We found this out the hard way - we hardly carry any cash at Disney!!! We tipped about $15 or so (what we had between us) and we really LIKED our driver. She was wonderful!

You will want to call asap. They fill up quickly. I have been calling for days to book ours and today is the first day they became available.

I just booked ours. I have no idea what it's all about, but it sounds like fun.

Do you ride with other guests?
Where does the carriage take you?

When I booked ours this morning, she asked for how many. It's just my DH and me. It's a 25 minutes ride through Ft Wilderness I believe. It an actual sleight with wheels under it. I saw a picture on this board, but I'm not sure where you could find it. Maybe someone could post another picture of it. It was red and decorated with green garland for Christmas. They also said you could bring drinks with you if you would like.

Hope this helps.

I read this and just booked mine! :goodvibes

This is a birthday present for my mom because she's celebrating during our December trip! :santa:

I also would love to see a picture or two and maybe a description so I can pass this on to mom.

I do wish I could prepay this one because it is a gift. Oh well, I'll just put the money in an envelope ahead of time. :goodvibes

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for posting this! I just booked 12/17 before our dinner at California Grill :) What time did everyone book? I couldn't decide if earlier or later would be best? Right now we are at 6pm, which I was hoping might be around sunset in December? Anyone know? :)

We are dining at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 6:20, so I booked our sleigh ride for 9:00. I figured we should be finished with dinner by then.

I'm not sure what time sunset would be, but I think anytime will be great.

There are some picture of the "sleigh" that have been posted. Under search, type in sleigh rides and you can see what they look like.

I'm so glad I called this morning. I have been trying every morning for the past several weeks and today was the day they finally started booking them. I have heard that they go fast!

YAY, I got mine booke also, we are having dinner at Ohana around 5-5;30 so I booked for 9PM, figured we could look around at decorations or let the kids take a dip in the pool(not to start trouble, we are DVC members and can pool hop if its OK with that hotel) This will be a christmas surprise for the family, anyone know if Wishes can be seen?

I just booked mine for Dec 13. I am so excited!!!1
Thanks so much for the information.:cool1:

I have an ADR at WCC for 7:50, so I booked the sleigh ride for 7:00. I have been trying for a few weeks to get it, but I saw that Disney opened the ressies for the sleigh ride last year on the 20th I believe, so I knew it would be right around now. I didn't want to rush the dinner, so I booked the ride for before dinner. Can't wait!

We did this last year - The day we arrived at Wilderness Lodge - It was a beautiful beginning to the trip - I was able to charge it to the room though -

Our guide talked to us the whole time - Kids wished she didn't and it would of been more mystical...We went at dark and when in the trees and bushes..they wanted Mom's attention.

Their were 5 of us - DH, DS12, DD16 & DD15 and I - we fit just fine!!

Have fun!!

Sorry I can't find our picture

I just called & it's too early for our dates but I'll be able to book it on Saturday YAY !!!

I just totally got rejected by the CM...I guess you can only book 90 days out for the sleigh ride, and my 90 days doesn't start until tomorrow (because I want to go 12/19)....boy does that stink! Totally puts a damper on my night!

Well...now I can ask a question anyways....I'm going to the 5pm show of Candlelight Processional on the 19th, what time would you book the sleigh ride for if you were me? Thanks!

Yeah I just got rejected too LOL tried to book on the 21st. But my CM was nice :)

If you have the Candlelight Processional at 5 personally I wouldn't book until 7 at the earliest - more like 7.30 or 8 so you don't feel rushed. Are you using Disney transportation or your own car?

How many days out can you book it?

90 days

We will be using Disney transport....I figured Monorail to TTC, then to MK and take the boat over to WL....or is there an easier way?

I think it would be faster to just take the bus from Epcot to the WL. Or, the absolute fastest would be to exit Epcot through the International Gateway, walk to the Beach Club or Boardwalk and take a taxi from there to the Wilderness Lodge.

I'd probably book the ride for around 8pm. That should give you enough time without killing yourself. If you arrive early, just spend some time checking out the amazing decorations at the Wilderness Lodge, or enjoy some down time in the rockers in front of the fireplace. It's very "Christmassy".
