We have reservations for 3 standard view rooms for the week of Thanksgiving.
We have not stayed at WL before and would like recommendations for rooms/floors...we would like to have our rooms open out onto a view of the lobby - perhaps a location where we could see the fireplace. We also would like a balcony where we could see out while sitting down (not have the view blocked by a wall)...babies will taking naps so there will be some time spent on the balcony during the afternoons. Because of the babies, we would also hope to not be over a service area with the sound of trucks, etc.
We are requesting adjoining rooms. I know this sounds like a lot of "picky" requests but hopefully someone can guide me! Any information would be helpful and I hope to call WDW to put in our requests! Thanks in advance for your recommendations!:goodvibes

Connecting rooms w 3 rooms. Highly unlikely. Not even sure u can get connecting rooms. Adjoining rooms possibly but 3 is very iffy. You can request it but it is not guaranteed. Std rooms are view of service area or parking lot. I do see alot of free upgrades to woods and courtyard views.

Your other request of "off lobby" is possible but very small number of rooms.

You may get 1 of your requests but to expect all of them is only gonna lead to a big letdown.

I agree you may get 1 of those request but don't count on all of them. 3 rooms connecting will be difficult. And the lobby at WL is loud so you may want to rethink that one.

We have reservations for 3 standard view rooms . . . we would like to have our rooms open out onto a view of the lobby - perhaps a location where we could see the fireplace. We also would like a balcony where we could see out while sitting down (not have the view blocked by a wall) . . . also hope to not be over a service area with the sound of trucks, etc . . .

1) Northwest Lobby rooms overlook service area or driveway
. . . service area for truck & deliveries to WL
. . . if high enough, the service area is tough to see looking down
. . . but, during day, truck back-up alarms are heard
. . . no view of the fireplace
. . . must go into balcony/walkway to see lobby
. . . you may also get noise from Whispering Canyon Café
2) Southeast Lobby rooms overlook area between WL and VWL
. . . some small grassy areas
. . . mainly roof tops, driveway, bus stop
. . . can see the fireplace across the lobby in the corner
. . . must go into balcony walkway to see lobby/fireplace
. . . you may also get noise from Whispering Canyon Café
3) With the exception of two rooms,
. . . all balconies rails and stiles, and not a solid wall
. . . but, for most people, the railing is at eye-height when seated
4) You will not be able to get all you want - need to prioritize.

With babies taking naps I would highly suggest turning down an upgrade for a pool view room if you get it. The games at the pool and the music are very loud. We could hear it loud and clear while in our room, and we were closer to the lobby than the pool. Enjoy! :)

We recently returned from WL where we had two standard view rooms booked, with the connecting option as a request.

We ended up with connecting rooms on the South side of the lobby above the registration desk. (6093 and 6094). There was not a door to make a third connecting room possible, and I doubt this configuration exists. Another thing to consider is one of the rooms was a King bed, and the other had two queens. I understand this is common for the connecting rooms, so hopefully that will fit your party.

Getting a perfectly quiet room can also be difficult. We absolutely loved having rooms that opened to the lobby, even more than our prior room that had a courtyard view. We could however hear noise from the lobby at times. It didn't bother us, but is something to consider, as is noise from the pool. The quietest option would probably be a woods view in one of the wings or a courtyard view on the South side facing the Villas pool, but these are not standard view rooms.

According to the resort map, most of the standard view rooms do open to the lobby on the north side of the resort. Since Thanksgiving is a pretty busy time, there is a good chance this is where you'll end up. The downside of these is the view of the loading area, and possible noise from trucks making deliveries during the day.

Good luck with your request, and no matter where you end up you will be in an awesome resort with plenty of beautiful things to see and enjoy.
