WE WILL BE STAYING AT WL AT THE END OF APRIL. MY MOTHER WILL BE GOING WITH US AND WE NEED TO KNOW IF THERE ARE STAIRS FOR ENTRY INTO THE POOL.IS IT A QUIET PART OF THE POOL? SHE WILL HAVE TO REMOVE HER PROTHESIS AND SLOWLY GET INTO THE POOL WITH JUST A LITTLE HELP. THANKS!!!;)

My daughter and I are trying to remember... we are pretty sure that there are stairs into that pool, at the far end closest to the pool bar. That is a feature pool, with a water slide, so it can get busy. There is another pool at the Wilderness Lodge Villas, right around the corner, that is usually much quieter.

I believe that most of the pools at WDW have stairs, not just ladders.

Here is a pic of the pool at the VWL area. Look closely to the left of the pool. I think this is what you are asking about. I hope this helps. BTW the main pool is on the other side of the building you are looking at. :)

Yes, and that spa at the VWL is large, very warm, and easy to enter and exit as well. That would be the pool of choice, if you want quiet.

Good pictures, Dave. :)

THANKS FOR THE PICTURE...IT'S JUST WHAT SHE NEEDS. DO WE NEED ANYTHING SPECIAL TO GET INTO THE "VILLAS" AREA? WE WILL BE IN THE MAIN LODGE. I AM STILL TRYING TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE PROPERTY WITH THE HELP OF THE INTERNET.:earsgirl:

No, you can just walk over there. :) You may find that the main pool suits you just fine.

We just came back from WDW, staying at OKW and also at WL. The pool that Dave showed a picture of has a nice set of steps to get in that you can see in the picture. All the WDW pools that I have ever been in (OKW, PO- Riverside and New Orleans, CBR, WL) have steps similar to that. That pool at WL also has a set of steps that starts at wheelchair seat height, meant for "bumping" on your bottom down to the pool. Those steps are hidden by the trees in the picture, but they were fairly close to the regular steps. That pool is fairly shallow, with the shallowest part being 3.5 feet and the deeper end being 4.5 feet (maybe 4 ft 9 in). It was a pretty warm pool. There was a sign at the entrance to the pool welcoming WL and WL Villa guests, so you won't have any problem using it.
Here's a link to the maps of WL from the DIS pages. It doesn't show the Villas, but they are located in the part of the map toward the bottom that just looks like trees. That's the area you will find the quiet pool from the picture. They are paths and signs that make everything quite easy to find once you are there.
