To all of the Wilderness Lodge experts out there:

Can you tell me about the pool (or pools) at that Lodge? I saw a few pictures, and it looks fabulous. Is it as beautiful as the pictures portray it? Compared to other resorts, is the pool size similar, smaller, etc? My husband and son love to swim, and I want to make sure that they'll enjoy it.

I'll take any information - the good, the bad, and the ugly!

Thanks in advance!

The pool at the WL is really pretty - and the hot tub is neat too. The pool deck either seemed a bit smaller or a bit more crowded than other pools to me. I did notice that whenever we went to the pool (unless it was really early or really late), it seemed hard to get two chairs together. Or maybe we just went at a really busy time. It probably is one of the more beautiful pools at WDW.

There are 2 pools, plus 1 kiddie pool, and 3 hot tubs.

The main area consists of the large pool with side, 2 hot tubs, and kiddie pool. The villa's pool area consists of 1 pool and 1 hot tub.

They are both beautiful areas. Yes, the main pool is smaller. But remember, WL is abt 1/2 the size of most of the deluxe resorts. (During our stay, I had *several* people mention to me they were staying at the campground but liked this pool better.)

During our stay, the villa's pool was never busy. If you really want to swim and not "hang out", I'd suggest heading over here.

We found ourselves spending a LOT more time than usual hanging out at the pool.

We love the pool at the lodge. It starts as a stream in the lobby and winds it's way along the path and over the waterfall before ending in the pool. (Well, not really, but it's made to look like it does.) You can swim right up to where the water from the stream enters the pool and it makes a pretty strong current that can carry you along. It's fun to just let it float you around. We've also found that the lodge pool seems to be warmer (heated more) than other resort pools, which is great for us since we tend to be there in the cooler months. It really is a beautiful pool in a beautiful setting. On one side you have the incredible lodge itself, and othe the other you have the beautiful Bay Lake. Plus, it's fun to watch the geyser erupt. Enjoy your stay!

The pool is fabulous! My son loved the water slide. I must say that the life guards are exceptional..they watch every single kid that goes down that slide and they are in that water in a split second . Ive seen it!

Look for the mascot WL ducks that share the pool. Its not the WL without them. I have pics of my son swimming with them.

Have a magical time!

WL's pool and setting is very beautiful. If you take a look a the pic below, you can see what it looks like. Use the lounge chairs for comparison of size:

Here's a zoomed out view: The little pool on the upper left is the kiddie pool and the jacuzzi is right next to the bridge.

Very nice and I never saw it too crowded.

That pool is sooooo amazing....

Its beautiful. At quiet times, Ducks swim in the pool. I thought the pool deck had a very natural feel to it. It's my very favorite pool of all the resorts at WDW.

The pool bar is great too!

I will also add that the main pool is not really a good pool for "swimming" because of the shape and size. It's great to laze around in and we love the "current" and slide. But you can't really do laps or anything.

Here's a view from our last trip. We loved it, and there are many rooms which have a very good view of the pool. So, you can sit on the balcony and watch the kids swim.

Thanks for all the information and pictures! We're going in August, and we are SO EXCITED!!!

When we were there in May the Lifegaurds were on duty at Silver Creek Springs Pool (main pool with slide) until 10:00pm at that time the slide was closed, but guest could continue to swim until midnight. The pool over at the Villas Hidden Springs Pool doesn't have a lifeguard but midnight is the time posted there also.

The season you visit will determine how late the slide is open on a trip to BWV this September the pool slide and lifeguards closed at 8:00p.m.

If you are quite and not making noise I think you can swim at almost any time.
