Wilderness Lodge, Polynesian, or split stay?

Going for my first trip to disneyworld and debating between the 2 deluxe resorts. Both theming sound good to me.
We are 4 adults going to 1 park per day

My main concern is the actual room itself. I know polys is bigger but is it bigger in places where i cant really tell the difference anyways? Like the closet and bathroom?
I want to know if the poly room feels much more luxurious or not.

Im really curious as to what the people who did a split stay between poly and WL thought about the 2?

I have stayed at both resorts, but not on the same trip. I like the WL much more than the Poly. The Poly doesn't have hot tubs. The Poly's bathroom is all in the same room, while the WL have double sinks separate from the shower/bathtub/stool room. The WL is all under one roof while the Poly is spread out. The WL lobby and nooks and crannies are a plus for me.

All of the WL rooms have a balcony or the ground floor rooms have a patio. The Poly have rooms with balconies and some without.

There are many Poly fans, so it just depends on your preference of themes. The Poly lovers can give you the pluses of the Poly, including the monorail. Maybe a split stay would make it feel like two different vacations.

Love, love, love the WL!!!! That being said, we are trying the Poly next year. For four adults though, you may appreciate the larger size and extra sleeping area that the daybed provides at the Poly.

We've stayed at both as well, but not in the same trip. We love both resorts for different reasons, but if we had to choose between them, it would be the Poly as that's our favorite resort overall. The rooms are much larger than at the WL, with all rooms having a daybed. The one sink vanity is in the bathroom like the pp mentioned, but we were fine with that and didn't find that as a negative. There is plenty of closet space and the rooms are much more spacious than the rooms at the WL. For 4 adults in the same room, I would definitely go with the Poly as the extra space would be beneficial, IMO. We loved the Poly the minute we checked in. We are headed back to Poly in July 2013 and we can't wait to get there. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is great for relaxing in a hammock watching the fireworks, and you can't beat having a distant view of the castle every day. Good luck with your decision.

I would suggest the Poly. But if you want to split your trip up, I would do BC and Poly to enjoy MK and Epocot with DHS. Just a thought.

Well, full disclosure - the Poly is our favorite resort

The things we love about the Poly are the spacious rooms, the grounds, the beach, the restaurants, the pool slide, the monorail & boat transportation. Lots of friendly CMs. Plenty of space for 4 of us.

DD & I stayed at WL about 18 months ago. Even with just 2 of us we felt like the room was cramped. And the pool was awful - way too crowded in the pool and impossible to find a chair - in all our trips before & after we've never experienced that before.
The WL lobby is beautiful.

Deluxe-wise, we have stayed at the Poly, CR, GF, WL, BWI, AKL and YC. WL was our least favorite. Just our personal opinions though. Tons of people love it. If you truly want to compare for yourself, go with the split stay

No matter where you stay, you'll be at Disney and it will be magical

We usually do a split stay. I would definitely do Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge!! Those two are my favorite deluxe resorts!! They both have their own different theme, but definitely both has the luxurious feel.

You're lucky to have a choice to split between these two resorts. It's like vacation within a vacation, but only twice!! Enjoy your time there! I think you will enjoy the island feel at the Polynesian and the Northwest Pacific at WL.

The rooms at the Poly are significantly larger than WL and it is in the livable space.

Both have wonderful theming/landscaping. Poly has more convenient access to the MK.

We have only stayed at the Poly, but it is my favorite resort by far.

Rooms-huge! The rooms are huge with plenty of closet/drawer space for four adults. There is a day bed in every room that can sleep an adult. My DS, 6'2" slept on it every night and loved it

Location-super easy to take monorail to MK and walk to TTC to catch EPCOT monorail. We thought the buses were fast and came often.

Theme- loved the tropical theme. I spent many hours walking around the resort, taking pics and enjoying the landscaping

Wishes- you can watch wishes from the pool, beach, GCH or your room if you have a theme park view. Watching wishes away from MK is wonderful, no pushing, crowding or shoving to get a good spot.

We loved our 1st floor Niue room, facing the volcano pool. We were literally steps from the lobby, food, transportation and the pools. The patio's are large enough for 4 adults to relax, eat and have a drink

Food options- we really liked Captain Cooks for quick service, Kona for sit down and taking the monorail for other options.

I have stopped by and ate at WL and liked it. I think the rooms size and lobby are like AKL. We stayed and AKL on our 1st trip and liked it, but loved the Poly.

I have stayed at both resorts multiple times although not split stays.

Closets and bathrooms are these resorts are different, neither necessarily better than the other IMHO.

The actual rooms at the Poly are noticeably bigger. There is a daybed(couch), chair with foot stool and a desk with chair. So 4 adults can sit someplace besides the beds. The room may or may not have a balcony (some 2nd floor rooms don't have a balcony). As someone previously stated,
all bathroom fixtures are in the same room.

At WL there are the 2 beds and a table and 2 chairs. So, 4 adults will not all have someplace to sit besides the beds. The room will have a balcony. Bathrooms have sinks outside the tub/shower and toliet room.

I wouldn't say the poly room feels much more luxurious than WL room, it just feels bigger.

If space to hang out in the room is a priority I would choose the Poly.
If hot tubs are a priority I would choose WL.

The Poly rooms are far superior to the rooms at Wl. Wl is very cramped. The only reason I chose Wl lodge over Poly on our upcominng trip is cost. If cost is not an issue I would choose Poly in a heartbeat. Wl lodge is ok, but it's not the Polynesian.

We are currently in the middle of a split stay, starting at WL and ending at Poly. So far, we love WL. Our room is not too small (although it is just the two of us), our view is of pool and Bay Lake, and we're just a quick elevator ride away from Roaring Forks. Love the lobby, love the grounds...
I have stayed at Poly in the past, so I expect something different but just as good. TBC...
