Wilderness Lodge Pictures

I. AM. SO. EXCITED. I can't wait for our August vacation!!! I love love love the Wilderness Lodge!! Even in the summer I love the fireplaces and rocking chairs and little cozy nooks all over the place.

Thanks for the pics!!!

Anytime!!!

Wow...great pics. Those are probally some of the best I've ever seen posted. Makes you really miss the lodge.

Those are great pictures! my husband really wants to stay at the WL on our next trip:)

Now I want to stay there again! I stayed here in June and after much debating, we got a great rehabbed 4th floor room overlooking the otter pond with a direct view of Cinderella Castle (there was an opening in the trees right in front of our room so it was perfect). The first time we stayed there in January 2005 we got upgraded to a 3rd floor courtyard view room near the boat dock.

But I really want to stay at the Contemporary or Polynesian again next.

But this is a link to the camera information:

Canon Rebel

You might want to skim the entire thread, as it was a general discussion about the camera, lens options, suppliers, etc. Granted, the information is 6-12 months old, but still, it's a start!

Thanks again for all of your great photo's.

We stayed at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in October. Along for the trip was a very dear friend of mine who has traveled extensively. She has stayed at many of the top hotels in the country including the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island....and even she was "wowed" by the lobby of Wilderness Lodge!

Thanks for posting your pics! We'll be staying at VWL in May - it'll be our first stay at WL and also the kids' first trip to WDW. We haven't told them yet about the trip. When I saw your pictures I had the kids look at them - all I said to them was "look at this hotel - isn't it neat?" and they were jumping up and down saying "can we go there?, lets go there."

Needless to say I think they'll love the WL - thank you so much for posting them. They're the best ones I've seen.

It definitely has that WOW factor - every time I enter!

I remember the hotel you make reference to - it was part of the DVC exchange program - at least the first year I joined (1992) - have never traded out of Disney, and stopped paying attention to the possible trades! Of all the resorts in the brochure at the time, this Mackinac hotel was the only one that captured my attention.

Beautiful pictures. I wish I was there.

Hoping my wait list clears for a couple of days in March. Will be in Ft Lauderdale Mon-Wed for business - fortunately for me, the flight though Orlando was the least expensive, so I am sidetracking through Disney for Thu-Fri.

I was commenting to my uncle (also DVC) last week that the first time we went to Disney, we approached it as a "trip of a lifetime". After that trip, it became "the annual Disney vacation" - since DVC and Southwest, it's "I wonder what Southwest is doing this week?"

The "Surprise the kids" stories are among the most popular on these threads! What's the plan?

If you have time (and transportation) when you are there, show them AKL, too. Kids really thinks having animals as part of the hotel is cool, too.

I love your photos so much! You captured the feeling of the WL. My family and I will never forget walking into that lobby for the first time. :cloud9: We're planning our next trip for Sept. 2008. We can't wait to get back! Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes

We're waiting until Easter. Thats about 30 days before we go and we're planning on doing a treasure hunt after the usual egg hunt. The treasure chest will have a pic of WL, disney$$, disney planning dvd, & the custom made maps from Disney. Probably have some other little things just not sure yet.

We are planning on visiting AKL - we really were torn between AKL and WL but we need the space the villas offer and of course the proximity to MK. DH really wanted WL - we can see the animals at AK was his reasoning. Maybe next time we'll try the AKL villas.

Thanks again.
