Thanks so much for the great pics. Can't wait to get back to the lodge it's been to long. It's dh favorite resort and he thinks we are staying at POR. I hope I can keep it quite for another few months.

I don't believe so. There's a bunk bed where the other queen would otherwise be.

worried about the decor being too dark and depressing in the rooms, can someone put me at ease?

I was convinced that WL would be my favorite resort. After all, I loved the whole Disney feel of it, especially with Walt's trains and other things in the Villas section. I loved everything about this resort, except....

THE ROOMS!! Holy Toledo, were they horrible! Too small, too brown, too depressing. And this is coming from someone who loves the rustic ambience of the whole blasted resort!

Poly is "brown", too, but in such an elegant manner. I disliked the rooms so much at WL, that we switched to another resort that very same day.

I would, however, stay in a 2-bedroom villa if I had the chance. At least the living areas of those villas would break up the monotony of the "brown Motel 6" feel that I felt at WL.

Just my opinion.

I would agree that the rooms are the weakest area of WL. At least the one we stayed in. It was a woods view with bunks. Didn't need the bunks since we don't have kids but it was the one available with the 4/3 discount last January. They are fairly dark, and ours had poor lighting. However, when we figured how little time we spend in the rooms and how much we loved the rest of the resort, we decided to choose WL again.

I think you will absolutely love the 2BR villa at Kidani. It is fabulous. Changing resorts in the middle of the stay is a pain, but you will certainly get diversity with the two results you picked.

I don't know how big the club room is at the WL, but its going to feel small after the 2BR villa. Anyway - both resorts are great. I think I actually like AKL a tad better....love the music. Love the animals.

Oh no! I keep thinking about changing to AKL. I LOVE THAT Resort but decided to stay at WL this year.....We stayed at Kidani last year and LOVED it. Sorry to hijack the thread, just keep changing my mind is all.....

Staying at WL 12/22-28/10....will be doing Standard Club Level for the first time...can't waitThis will be my older sisters first time staying at a Deluxe Resort. Have not told her and she still thinks we are staying at POR. As a surprise I am paying for 90% of the trip and just letting her pay for her share of dining plan and park admission....She has no idea... Now if I can only keep it a secret until we get aboard ME, that would be cool....I have stayed at WL several times as a solo traveler over the last 10yrs and I love it!!!! Again, enjoyed the pictures and can't wait until Dec!!!!!

Believe it or not, due to some flight issues (Continental switched me to Delta because of weather not getting me to MCO on time) my luggage got left at MCO overnight. I woke up at 4am thinking I missed Bell Services delivering the luggage to the room. (We went to the pool at about 11-1am)

To make a long story short, the Bell Services team and the Management team at WL got our luggage to our room by 7:30 (they even offered to get me into the merchantile before it opened to get my youngest an outfit to wear until the luggage arrived as she had gone through her original and spare outfit the day before). They also went the extra mile and paid for a cab to take us to our first morning ADR at the Poly so we wouldn't be late. They have made a Wilderness Lodge lover out of me and all of our future trips will have us staying there.

Awesome photos everyone. I really wanted to stay at the VWL for a few nights on our upcoming trip, but there's no room at the lodge!

Oh well, I'll just have to keep checking this thread until we can finally get to stay there.

We just changed hotels to WL. Thanks for all the pictures. We will be there December 30 to Jan 9. I can't wait until we get to see all the Christmas decorations!!
