I've stayed at POR a BUNCH, but thought about trying WL for a change only to be closer to MK. Can you walk to MK from WL, or is it only boat/bus?

Only boat or bus. The only resort you can walk to the MK from is Contemporary Resort (including BLT at CR).

But the bus to the MK from WL is really quick. It doesn't go anywhere but MK and WL. And the boat is very nice, too.

Oh, wow! I didn't know that! That'd be nice!! We usually drive our own car to every park but MK so we don't have to mess w/ the TTA thing.

Definitely give WL a try - beautiful resort and if you do, try to hop on the boat back to the resort right before the last fireworks - it's really cool to watch them as you are riding back on the water.

Also, there is an Electric Water Parade each night (or there used to be) around 9 pm each night.

WL is our favorite resort by far but we are trying POR royal guest room for a few days on the next trip.

WL is one of our favorites and we have stayed at most of the Deluxes. It's awesome

Give WL a try! The boat ride is so nice and having the extra amenities is a bonus.

I highly recommend you try WL! The only problem you will have is that you won't want to stay anywhere else once you do. See my signature for proof.
