DH, DD and I just returned from our 5 night stay. DD's first trip to WDW and she was enthralled :lovestruc and is now plain ole' tuckered out.

Check-in went very smoothly. We arrived at the resort about 8:15 am and after checking in, were at Epcot via Disney bus in less than an hour. Room of course was not ready, but we did not expect it to be. Stored our luggage including our laptop and everything was delivered to our room at the appropriate time.

The resort overall was very nice. We did have two ongoing problems. Two days housekeeping did not show up until after 4 pm :sad2: Each time, we had just arrived back in the room from the parks and were hot and tired. At that point, no one was going to chase us out of our room. We just asked for the towels to be changed out and left it at that.

There were also sporadic problems with the plastic key passes all week getting into the room and gaining entry into the parks. Trips back and forth to the front desk solved the problem temporarily. Extremely frustrating to say the least.

The worst came yesterday. My card would not scan for entry to Typhoon Lagoon so they issued me a temporary pass and told me to get a new key when we returned to the lodge. When we did return around lunchtime, dd went to the front desk, waited in line and got another new card. That afternoon. DH and DD went to Disneyquest in the afternoon while I headed to the pool. After awhile I decided to head back to the room. My bathing suit was still wet, but figured I could change when I returned to the room.

No such luck. AGAIN the room key does not work. Here I am standing in line at the front desk for the umpteenth time, but now in a wet bathsuit and coverup. First time all week the air conditioning did not feel lovely. Finally my turn and the clerk asks me if I had the card next to my credit cards or cell phone. LOL they were locked in my purse in the safe in my room which I could not get in to. She asked me to have a seat while she went in the back and "did something". Having better sense than to sit on their beautiful furniture in a wet bathing suit, I stood at the front desk and continued to fume. She finally came out with another new key.

Head back to the room thinking my troubles were over and no such luck. The new key did not work. Went back to the lobby and decided for a change of secenery to try the concierge. Stood in line AGAIN. After telling her my tale of woe, she too disappeared in the back. I begged her to just get me into the room if I promised not to leave it until DH returned.

This am prior to check out, DH looked over the hotel bill and saw that there we were overcharged us for TWO park tickets for 5 days. SUBSTANTIAL money to us and another half hour wasted at the front desk.

In another interesting development, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend received an upgrade from the absolute cheapest room at the Polynesian to Concierge Level with a lake front view as well as C's castle. It seems that when they arrived in their room after spending time with us at Epcot the first day, they had an uninvited guest in the room. The bell hop delivered their luggage to their room, went through all of their luggage and THEN decided to use THEIR bathroom. His mother brought him up well, he washed his hands when he was finished. When they heard the water running it was then that they realized they had company with them in the room :earseek:

We absolutely loved the 4th of July fireworks from their balcony. Their concierge was also able to arrange a cute birthday celebration for DH which arrived as requested, when the fireworks began... Helium baloons, noisemakers, party hats and a delicous birthday cake decorated with Mickey and a candle.

Also recommend the Hoop Dee Doo Review, Whispering Canyon for either breakfast or dinner, Chef Mickey's for breakfast and Concouse Steakhouse. We were not thrilled with Ohana's and really disliked the Rainforest Cafe at the Animal Kingdom.

Sounds like a good trip, except for the card key problems. What's up with that? The story of the bellhop who made himself comfortably at home is kind of funny, but a bit disturbing as well.

Anyway, glad to hear your trip was fine for the most part. Thanks for posting.

Glad you had a great trip. (Except for the key problem). But it sounds like you didn't let it bother you too much. We love Wilderness Lodge. Just got back from there this past Saturday. We had breakfast at WCC twice. It was very good and my kids love that place. Welcome back to the real world! :flower:

Evidently he went through the luggage and THEN decided to go to the bathroom and take care of his business...BIL was not told specifically that the man was fired, but was told "you will not be seeing this person around the resort any longer".

We stayed at WL from 6-19 to 6-25 and had the same problem with housekeeping. We called once and they sent someone "right up"...about 30 minutes later.

we had the same problem withs keys in PO RS this may
it is a real pain in the neck having to waste so much time at the front desk ,
we came home with over 20 keys
