So we have a trip planned in February and staying at Beach Club. Got a great rate when we booked many months ago. Able to stay 3 more nights and rates, even with discounts are very high for everywhere except the Wilderness Lodge which has some reasonable rates for standard room. i Keep stalking the website but no luck. Never stayed at Wilderness Lodge how are the rooms? Would you recommend staying there?

It's a beautiful resort, though the rooms are slightly smaller than the other deluxe resort rooms. They have 2 queen beds (there are some with one king) and there are no sofas in the rooms. Could be a little tight depending on how many people you are travelling with, but doable! It's my favorite.

We LOVE Wilderness Lodge. The rooms were recently renovated and are nice. Beach Club is a favorite of ours as well. Are you thinking about changing your entire stay over to WL or a split stay?

Would do a split stay and not cancel Beach just need the 3 extra nights. Staying at Beach Club for the festival so can walk right into Epcot. Now we just looked and the Swan and it comes in at half the price (yes actually half price) of wilderness lodge even with the $40 a day resort fee. Stayed at Swan a long time ago and don’t think I was crazy about it. But saving $300 a night for 3 nights that’s a lot of nice Jiko dinners! I’m torn because we usually do enjoy resort time mid day and I don’t remember the swan being that nice an atmosphere. I have been to visit the Wilderness lodge and its very inviting

I’m with you on not being crazy about Swan, it’s just missing something. I’d do WL. I mean a split stay with an EPCOT resort and a MK one is ideal.

I own DVC at CCV and love it at Xmas time. But if Swan is saving that much and you’re doing Epcot, I’d probably go for it. Although as mentioned, split staying is ideal too which I always do splits based on what parks I’m doing. And if you’ve never stayed at WL, it is an amazing resort. Great food options and proximity to MK.

The WL hotel side rooms are great! I was there in Feb and they just got their much needed refurbishment so everything is up to date. Storage space under beds, rainshower, etc. I would not be concerned at all about the rooms when staying there! I love the atmosphere. So laid back and it’s nice to have easy MK access.

(I cannot really compare to Swan as my 2 Swan hotel stays were lousy and then awful and with all the reviews I’ve read I know I’m an outlier so I won’t go into my issues. I’m swan cursed lol.)

ETA- I loved Geyser Point. No ADRs!

DH and I stayed at WL for the first time in 2022 and I loved it! I'm just sad we can't fit in a regular hotel room there if our kids are with us (family of 5). It was beautiful! The rooms were recently redone and they're very nice. I'd stay there again for sure. I highly recommend it if your family fits in the room.

The rooms are definitely smaller. We decided to do Wilderness Lodge once just to try other resorts though didn't have high expectations as we usually stayed at Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom or Boardwalk. Only stayed there once but I want to go back for our next trip, whenever that will be. Although the rooms are smaller, they are very nice and I think they may have been renovated since. The resort itself is so lovely with decent food options. We were considering a DVC purchase (put on hold for the near term) and this is where we would have bought points. It's just so nice to walk around the grounds - you really feel like you're in the pacific northwest walking through pathways between the trees. Two really nice pools. Geyser Point is really nice to get a drink or a snack and sit there in the open area or go sit by the water and watch the electric water parade while you eat or drink. Get a quick breakfast from Roaring Forks and eat it outside. And for the price compared to BC/YC, it's really good value IMO.
